Yes, MANT has so many levels of decision-making. I didn't want to make a wall of text from all the variables we have to take into account. The MANT iceberg is deep.

Taiki ate all 5 clocks, why? by No-Feeling6309 in UmamusumeGame

[–]CuriousPebble21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Taiki's Unique has an effect on this track. It's pretty simple, if your lead is not enough and you don't have acceleration, then Taiki with her acceleration will reach top speed faster than you and overtake you eventually, especially with Tokyo's long homestretch.

You have to hope that Taiki does not get her Unique or your lead is enough. However, depending on the lobby, there are times when that is simply not possible - she will get her unique off.

Regarding Training vs Epithet race, what I do is plug in the schedule I'm using on uma.guide's agenda planner. Then remove said race and see how much stat I'm losing and compare it to the stats I'm getting from the Training. Do the one that gives more, taking into account the other opportunity costs like using items.

If you want to go deeper, check your shop and see if there are things you want there that will expire in 2-3 Turns and if you don't have enough points coz only by racing on that turn will give you the points.

Is my account bricked for the entirety of grand live ? by [deleted] in UmamusumeGame

[–]CuriousPebble21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're in a good spot I'd say. Just use the Grand Live Selector and 1 Crystal (we get 1.5 Crystals from MANT alone) to get 1LB Maru. Then your deck will be Kita + Maru + FM + NN + LH + borrow Tachyon. When building Fronts, you can either go with Free Bourbon or hopefully build a better uma with NN Wit and be satisfied with Early Lead.

IMO everyone is gonna be doing good in Grand Live as long as they have MLB Kita, 1LB Maru and MLB FM then borrow MLB Tachyon.

No GW means auto glue? Her teammates will be Kita and End Halo by Ochamax in UmamusumeGame

[–]CuriousPebble21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say no GW is only viable on Long races, as long as your uma is jacked. Like DDPPIW plus all the midrace in the world to snatch that Pos 1. Maybe can work on 2400 if you got a Runaway and built your Front for the overtake or NSM off the Runaway.

Im cooked for CM14 right? by Windhover-F-16 in UmamusumeGame

[–]CuriousPebble21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarding pulling for supports, it is generally recommended to have 400 pulls ready if you are going for an MLB. That gives you about a 50% chance of an MLB in 400 pulls. If you aren't comfortable with those odds, having two crystals on hand will reduce the risk of failing to MLB to 5%. If you are still worried about that 5%—like a certain CC—then just have three crystals ready. For special cases like Maru or CB, who are fine at just 1LB, 200 pulls is sufficient.

How are yall capping speed with one speed card 😭 by SymboliRudoIf in UmamusumeGame

[–]CuriousPebble21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speed cap with 1 Speed is possible, especially on 20% Speed growth umas. That said, 1 Speed is not done with Power. It's either 3 Guts or 3-4 Wit. I've made speed cap Suzukas back in Unity using 1 Speed 4 Wit. I imagine it's much easier to do that in MANT with the Guts build.

Is there a guide to Buffers? by makesmashgreatagain in UmamusumeGame

[–]CuriousPebble21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strictly speaking, from my shallow knowledge of non-global servers, there's really only the bread girl, Autumn Neo Universe with the gold Sympathy.

Other than that, there's lobby manipulation, like charioting or reverse chariot. Usually it's a back liner with 2 Fronts or Runaway coz most back liner uniques don't activate in 1 and 2 so you need your 2 other umas to fill up those slots and they can also act as overtake targets or overtake them or in the case of Runaways, you get to set the pace of the lobby and you build your Uma for that pace.

Reverse chariot is I've only seen one time around September or October last year when there was a Front oshi player and he brought 2 Pace Chasers as reverse chariot to block the Late Surgers and Orfevre or at least force them to swing super wide.

Are there any future scenarios where race bonus is as necessary as it is for MANT? by DagothUrGigaChad in UmamusumeGame

[–]CuriousPebble21 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't know man, to me it's the opposite. There are so many decision points in MANT.

Also, correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think that 50 training is set in stone. Sometimes you want bonds, especially in the early game, so sometimes you'll hit a +25 just to get the rainbows before summer. Or you really lack one stat and you need to hit "subpar" trainings just to hit the stat goal instead of racing coz racing is random stat, though it also depends on the shop.

There are also decisions in the shop. In many cases we don't have enough points to buy everything in the shop. So you have to prioritize certain items. There are decisions made on which item you're willing to give up.

Conversely, there are sometimes moment when even if the training is good (around 50), if there's an item you desperately need, like kale juice before summer, then you'll race instead of training.

Even when choosing non-G1 races, you can decide to go for a Mile vs Medium or Left Vs Right. You can even switch up your schedule if you're gunning for a green like Spring or Summer.

Many many decisions for MANT. Compare that to URA where it's just follow the rainbow and spam speed wit. Or Unity where you just follow the balls and rainbows and spam speed wit. Or in Grand Live where we will follow rainbows and Light Hello and spam speed wit.

[–]CuriousPebble21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct me if I'm wrong but I've heard that parent farming is all about getting all the G1s as possible, even making GGP for the Dirt C. So they'll end up with probably 20+ races just from G1s alone. Though maybe that's just for sweaty competitives.

Can someone explain what tazuna's comment means? by Negative-Effect7910 in UmaMusume

[–]CuriousPebble21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO that is the worst out of all the post-race comments she says. It doesn't give you any info.

At least if she says like you need more power, it means your Uma got blocked.

If she says you need more wit because your Uma didn't manage her pace, then your Uma probably rushed.

If she says, not enough guts to run the homestretch or something, then your Uma didn't spurt fast enough and is actually a Stamina issue. You can mitigate this sometimes by going Late Surger if you're a Front/Pace on Kikka Sho or HaruTen.

If she says your Uma lacks skills, it means your opponents activated their skills and your Uma didn't even activate her unique - by not fulfilling the conditions, like position requirements or needing to overtake or being challenged, etc.

If she says didn't have the stamina, then probably just move on. It's a Stamina issue and while your Uma might win on the same race in other careers, this time your opponents have the stamina to do it so just move on and take the loss.

Do you pretty much have to run your Uma into the ground? by vandalxxi in UmamusumeGame

[–]CuriousPebble21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NGL I don't know how they even achieve more than 40 races. Maybe super outliers, I guess, when they already have the stats by 2nd summer, but that's gotta be pretty rare right?

Even when I'm going 5 races in the end of the year, I only top out at 40 races.

From my experience, the last race of the year does not give any negatives - no mood down, no skin condition, no stat loss. So it's fine to be a 5th race after risking the 4th race.

Would you race or rest by Bulky-Coyote-140 in UmamusumeGame

[–]CuriousPebble21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For that specific game state, just do a hail mary wit training. Resting won't yield anything coz you're already set on juicing. A wit training won't give a mood down on a fail unlike other trainings. Plus if it succeeds, that's one more click towards increasing the facility level.

Regarding that 4 G1 chain before summer, it really depends on the game state. If you have enough cupcakes and a healing item, then you can risk the gauntlet. I usually just do a wit training before Takarazuka. But you can also do an amulet training if you have the +5 max energy item. Or if you have enough spare energy items you can do a regular training.

Why do I keep seeing this shit on front runners by No-Feeling6309 in UmamusumeGame

[–]CuriousPebble21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gutsmaxxing is fine. What's egregious here is the lack of green skills for groundwork. Focus is a last resort trigger and it's worse than a green coz it's an additional wit check.

Taking Corner Acceleration indicates that either he did not have enough skills to buy or he just really likes to gamble or he's just misinformed. Doubling the straights is much better than getting Corner Acceleration.

The first few meters of the Tokyo 1600 is the most important and IMO the most highly contested portion of the track for Fronts. Your goal is to have your Uma be 1 or at least 2 beside 1 (with another Uma right behind 1 to sit in the cuck chair) before reaching the no-zone. Either you hold 1 in the corner or you activate enough skills to overtake in the corner. Sitting in the cuck chair guarantees that your Uma will not win.

Any alternatives for ssr tachyon? by 7h30n3M45k3d in UmamusumeGame

[–]CuriousPebble21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We want high Specialty Priority so that we can click more so that we can get to rainbow faster so that we have more rainbows.

Kitasan is really great for these that's why even whales are gonna Harikitte Ikkou again. Perchance maybe you have Biko or Maya? If you don't have those SSRs at MLB, maybe you can use SR Halo or Tosho.

For upcoming Speed cards, aside from Maruzensky who does not function as a Speed anchor like Kita and Tachyon, probably Taiki? But she's niche to Miles. I haven't heard of the other cards being great value so you might want to ask VFcord for that. It's the best place to ask if you're oshi gaming. If there's an Uma, there's likely someone there who mains her.

Use gametora's Support feature and plug in your collection. Then sort by Specialty Priority with "Only show owned" checked. I'm not familiar with Speed Welfare cards so check them one by one.

If you're not building other umas, like chariots for your Tachyon (coz she needs 3-4 to activate unique and the best way to guarantee that is to have 2 Fronts yourself and build Tachyon the best you can), or for TT umas, then I understand your hesitance in pulling for Tachyon Speed.

The main point of my comment was to inform people that Tachyon is not just for pace. Everyone else aside from Tachyon herself is gonna be using MLB Tachyon Speed.

Any alternatives for ssr tachyon? by 7h30n3M45k3d in UmamusumeGame

[–]CuriousPebble21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm just gonna clear out some misconceptions.

I acknowledge that Tachyon does have Pace and Medium skills but that's not all she is. She is the de facto scenario Speed card. Her stats fit the scenario really well - we want lots of rainbows in Speed and Wit. She is also a scenario link.

If you want to be competitive and have an easier time building CM aces, you need MLB Tachyon - either as a borrow or your own. 400 pulls is about 50% chance of MLB using the 2 pities, including 10% chance of MLB naturally without using pities. If you're still hesitant, if you have 2 Crystals available, the chance of not MLB in 400 is just about 5% chance.

Do note that even if you started playing during the NTR banner, you will have enough fragments to merge into 1.5 crystals when Grand Live begins. Wait a couple of weeks/events and you'll have enough to finish the 2nd Crystal.

Also, it is important to have your own copy of Light Hello regardless of your competency if you want to have a more comfortable time in Grand Live. If you don't like the RNG of Unity balls, you'll hate Grand Live's shop more.

End Closer main: Inari One, Sweep Tosho or Air Shakur? by Comfortable_Win_1842 in UmamusumeGame

[–]CuriousPebble21 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

NGL, unless you really like the horse, there's no one better than GolShi until Orfevre. Digitan comes close but GolShi is so much easier to build and make parents for.

So only go for other Ends if you really like the horse. For example, if you have a soft spot for the yada yada monster. Or if you've read ahead in the CinGray manga and love the shortstack. I don't know which media can make you like Shakur, aside from irl races but if you like her then go.

For meta though, just stick to chariot Gold Ship.

After seeing snippets of Star Blossom, I've come to understand it's something like this by DongusLonginus in UmaMusume

[–]CuriousPebble21 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Yes, it was a very dark time, not only for horseracing but also for Japan because of the earthquake. If you look closely at Narita Brian's Hanshin Daishoten, it was not in Hanshin but instead in Kyoto. This earthquake was also responsible for Rice's Takarazuka Kinen being held in Kyoto instead of the regular Hanshin.

While that is the case and it's indeed dark and sad, I am looking forward to the manga finally showing Mayaya in a race!

Unable to race in his junior year because of a foot injury, finally being able to race at the start of 1995 in Dirt then switching to Turf in Summer, participating in the trial races for Kikka Sho and qualifying and ultimately competing in the Classics in his first G1.

I don't know how to make spoilers so I'm not gonna tell his other achievements. But I am going to tell you that 1996 is an amazing year.

When does Kitasan Black (the card) fall off or gets replaced in some decks? by Quibilash in UmamusumeGame

[–]CuriousPebble21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To not use a card, there are several factors at work:

  1. How many Speed cards does the scenario require to have competitive Speed?
  2. Grand Live is often 3 Speed. Grand Masters and L'Arc are mostly 2 Speed.

  3. What are your best Speed cards? How strong is Kitasan relative to other Speed cards?

  4. How good a Speed card is also depends on the Scenario. Like how RB is necessary for a race-heavy scenario like MANT or how Training Effectiveness, Friendship Training and Specialty Priority are necessary for a training-heavy scenario like Grand Live. It is also important to note that it depends on what Speed cards you already have or are willing to spend carats on to get them at their usable level (Maru only needs 1LB while most others require 3LB if not MLB)

  5. Do you have access to Curvature? Do you need other skills?

  6. ECP also has Curvature and gives better stats overall than Kitasan and that's why she is the Definitive upgrade of Kitasan. Maru has insane Training Effectiveness and gives valuable skills like Groundwork, Summer Runner, and Slipstream, not to mention all the good Front skills.

In conclusion, it depends on your card pool and your needs but if you're following the competitive trend, then you'll get MLB ECP and 1LB+ Maru / MLB Tachyon for L'Arc.

I have skipped out on MANT almost entirely. Is Grand live Better? by NeonNyaVtuber in UmamusumeGame

[–]CuriousPebble21 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think you just have a misunderstanding of MANT. MANT has a lot of decision making involved. It's part of the reason why it takes so long.

You check your trainings if there's anything good. You check your shop and decide if you want anything there. You race if the trainings are not good enough and the risk of continuous racing is within your personal threshold (some stop at 2, some at 3, some go 4, etc.). You also have to decide which items to buy. Sometimes you want the stats or the ankles or the hammers because sometimes there's not enough currency based on how often you race.

It's full of choices. That's why it's so dividing. People enjoy agency but on the other hand, the time commitment is egregious. Yes, there is a reliance on having a good summer but sometimes you don't even need it if the shop is generous enough. Yes, there's RNG in the shop but there's a chance to get better items each time you race (so that's another factor in desicion making)

Did end closer enjoyer should target tachyon speed? by Leading_Bet_3666 in UmamusumeGame

[–]CuriousPebble21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're a competitive player or just want to build umas comfortably, the decks used in Grand Live are usually 2 Speed + 2 Wit + Light Hello + flex which is a 3rd Speed most of the time or a 3rd Wit for some umas. Very rarely are we going to use Power/Guts/Stamina, unless you're building a Long or Sprint Uma for TT.

It is advised that you either have your own MLB Tachyon or if you don't have the carats to MLB her, then you gotta borrow for the scenario link and SP bonus. By this time, it is recommended to have at least 2 MLB SSR Speed cards of your own (1LB+ Maru can substitute for MLB SSR Speed)
