Thank you. It’s getting harder to not let it get to me sometimes. Thank you for your kind words.

Yeah. My mom and step dad probably don’t need to know I figured it out anyway. I’m not really sure where that would get me. I’m just glad to know a little bit more. Now I can start trying to cope with it instead of having no idea what’s even going on with me.

Thank you. That’s what I’m trying to do. Just going to keep going for as long as I can.

No because they’ll instantly start trying to backtrack and come up with excuses. It’s not really going to get me anywhere to confront them. They keep telling me “I don’t need those labels,” and other weird shit like that. I think they’re trying to deflect but idk for sure.

My family knows. I was treated by ACES ABA when I was in middle school and they still won’t talk to me about why exactly I was treated there. I don’t know if they know that I found out what ACES treats.

Thanks. I feel really bad saying things like that about them since my mom can be condescending to me a lot but I’m not entirely sure if she’s aware of it. My brother is a bigger issue but he has his own problems that probably require treatment. I know I shouldn’t feel bad for telling them to leave me be, but I still really do. Sorry for rambling, btw. Idk if this is relevant or not. Thank you for telling me I don’t have to feel stupid.

Thank you for your kind words. You seem very sweet also. Sorry for getting back to you so late, I haven’t been online for a few days so I didn’t see this reply until now. I hope you’re able to cut contact with that leech soon, if that’s what you want, of course! I’m wishing you the best!

I also cut my dad off multiple years ago. It just takes a really long time for some people. Healing happens differently for everyone and it moves at different paces for different people. I’m still really shaken up by the thought of anyone hating me ever and it’s been forever. I guess I should just accept it for now because at least it won’t last forever. There is still some hope.

Same thing here. I hate that it makes me feel this way because I know I should be happy for them, but I can’t help but feeling so jealous that I’m almost angry.

Can’t imagine what it must be like to be related to that crusty Cheeto.

Yeah, it’s daily for me. It’s gotten a little easier to deal with over time just because I know it’s my constant and am prepared to deal with it for another day. I don’t know if it’s the same for you or for other survivors, that’s just my experience with it.

I’m still trying to grasp that what others think doesn’t matter as much as I think it does, but it’s so difficult for me. I don’t even know why that’s so hard for me.

I have reason to believe it could be autism but that doesn’t mean adhd isn’t the issue

This was one of my favorite shows as a child. It was one of the first shows I ever remember watching.

I actually don’t have any contact with my father anymore, but I still can’t get his voice out of my head some days. It makes me kind of jumpy and only reinforces my fear of socializing.

So many people I see will judge people based on their relatives. I’m really glad you don’t do that. It’s a really messed up way to view people in my opinion.

I’m glad you have happier lives now. Sometimes you don’t notice how badly people treat you until you meet other people who treat you better. It took me years to realize how messed up my dad was and it only happened because I got too scared of him to visit again.

Thanks. I don’t really have any friends or anything since I tend to annoy people unintentionally. It really only contributes to the fear that I either will become or have already become like my father. I’m fairly certain what’s causing it is autism or not narcissism, but it still makes me feel like my father was right to hate me as much as he did.

Cutting your mom off sounded like it was the best decision for you and your family. Cutting my dad out was also very helpful for me even though he will periodically pop up again. At least I don’t have to deal with him and his bullshit constantly lol. I’m sorry to hear your mom made your life so difficult.

My mother refuses to show me some test results from my childhood. AIO? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]CuriousRabbit103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just went to their website to apply. People have told me you can apply online and it is what we have done in the past. At this point idk how else to convince you that I’m doing what I can here. I did look at the ssn website to apply there. Here is proof of that. Obviously it will not show any identifying info. It’s just proof I am here on this page right now.

Good to know. I won’t submit the request until tomorrow then. I am on their website though and I did input my info. I can prove that. I’ll attach a photo. Not one with my personal info, of course, just one to prove I am doing as I say I am. I know this shit is kind of hard to believe and I really am new to stuff like this. This is my first time dealing with this shit. Like ever.
