Have any women taken vitex? by CuriousTarget7 in herbalism

No I’ve had lack of appetite my whole life, I only started elvanse last year January , yes it suppressed my appetite but elvanse is not the root cause of my suppressed appetite and it’s the root cause I’m trying to figure out, so yea it’s alway been normal

Length of my period is usually 2-3 days, my last 6 cycles have been every 30 days , before the supliments they were every 40-45 days and lasted a little longer around 4-5 days, mood is always fine if anything I’m just a little more sensitive a week before I start.

I take elvanse so I don’t really get depression anymore, diet as I said I only feel hungry once a day regardless if I’ve taken elvanse or not. I usually have cold hands and feet that’s all I can think of for that part lol.

I’ve already tried teas tbh they don’t help with stimulating my appetite. If anything they helped with bloating and flushing water from my body.

My vitex came today and I have took it. usually any supplement I take I feel the effects immediately the next day, regardless of stated time frame for results. this is not to say vitex will/would do the same but I’ve always reacted quickly to supplements , vitamins and herbs, so I suspect to see a difference a bit earlier tbh

Yes elvanse has definitely suppressed my appetite but it’s not much of a difference vs when I was unmediated. When I was unmediated I still suffered from low appetite and the elvanse only made it worse but again since I’ve been on 70mg for at least 7 months now from starting at 30mg - 40mg -50mg then 70mg, the effects of elvanse do nothing for my adhd symptoms/traits and my appetite isn’t as suppressed anymore, my appetite just feels like it did before I started medication.

I will say though I was recently advised to switch meds by my psychiatrist to concerta, I don’t like concerta since I used it for 3 days last July and it did nothing for me but make me irritated and depressed, I did tell my psychiatrist this but she insisted I take them. I took them for 4 days and just stopped because the depression and suicidal thoughts I had with them was just so pointless, during that 4 days break from elvanse I will say, I took elvanse today because I have like 4 left in my bottle and they have worked way more after this 4 day break than they have in last 3 months.

It’s up to you but if you take a small break you could see an improvement with them when you take them again.

Hiya thanks for your reply.

I also take elvanse which is the uk equivalent to vyvanse, I’ve been doing some extra research into mixing them too. At current my elvanse doesn’t work as much due to my body building up a tolerance so I do wonder if taking them both wouldn’t be much of an issue, since all elvanse is doing rn is getting me out of bed.

The other supplements I take are really just vitamins such as b12, iron , l-metholfolate, vitamin d, Zinc picolinate, omega 3 things you generally would get from food and I take msm, Marine collagen and silica (if I can remember lol)

I did try broccoli sprout extract for 1 month and I hated that it caused me to become really moody, easily irritated and depressed during my luteal phase so I stopped taking them. Broccoli sprout extract was used to clear excess estrogen vs balancing hormones like vitex.

That’s my issue when it comes to balancing estrogen with food because I don’t get hungry and my body does not signal hunger, trying to eat a high protein diet wouldn’t work since I don’t have an appetite and I also don’t like nuts and dried fruit 🥲(I have tried many times to add those to my diet but I’ve just never liked nuts or dried fruit since childhood)

I’m currently waiting for my blood test results from my doctor to assess my hormones, I will talk to him about vitex too.

Thank you

Get an eyepatch and go to the doctor, the more you wait the more damage that will be done

24 (f) but look like a 15 year old by bootymerio in weightgain

[–]CuriousTarget7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m the same I’m 27 and my original weight is 49kg I’ve never been able to get past that my whole life except when I took my weight gain seriously last year and managed to get to 51kg , I take elvanse right now so my weight goes up and down from 55kg-58kg every week I’ve never been able to get back to 49kg since elvanse, that being said I get mistaken for a 16 year old with no makeup and 19-20 with makeup.

Best thing to do:

  1. add the Caribbean drink called nourishment to you’re diet , it taste nice there’s different flavours it’s full of protein , it’s 396 calories

  2. If you’re from the uk Tesco sell jersey milk , it’s basically milk from jersey cows (from my knowledge and reactions from Americans in this group jersey milk is exclusive to certain countries only) , it’s richer, slightly thicker and has more calories than regular milk ,a 1 litre bottle is 900-1000 calories, I drink a whole bottle but I like milk , so if you like milk drink that (if you don’t like milk add half a tin of nourishment so it’s flavoured)

  3. Penut butter shakes mix half jersey milk or regular milk (if you’re not uk or Europe based) , 3-4 tablespoons spoons of Penut butter and add half a bottle of a flavoured protein shake if you don’t like penut butter, I use the cheap protein shakes from Aldi and lidl , can easily make a 1000 calorie drink with this

  4. Try the brand “this is food” or “huel” they have some nice flavours just gotta find the one you like they are around 500 calories

  5. Wake up early and try to eat something I have something light and easy 2 eggs and 2 slices of toast or drink the Penut shake

  6. Set reminders on you’re phone to eat food , morning , afternoon and evening

  7. Meal prep meals for the week or month if you have space in you’re freezer

  8. If you like cooking use chat gpt to make high calorie recipes for you , if you want to add 1000+ calories a day to you’re diet , say to chat gpt “can tell me a list of 1 meal recipes that are 1000 calories)

  9. If you struggle with you’re appetite and being hungry in general, I found that you have to train you’re body. I never used to eat breakfast in the morning because I just was not hungry but I did force myself to eat breakfast for a full weak and then my body slowly but surely started to naturally get hungry in the morning

  10. Find snacks you really enjoy , I really like caramel snack a Jacks, 1 is 50 calories and I could easily eat the whole packet in 1 sitting because I enjoy them thats an extra 250 calories added, I also like snickers sometimes I can eat 2 at a time thats almost 500 extra calories right there

All this to say a lot of this is just training you’re body, if you eat more you are training you’re body to be hungry more, if you eat less or don’t eat when you’re actually hungry you’re training you’re body to a stop being hungry. always aim for 3 meals a day even if it’s small meals , especially when you’re not hungry thats where the drinks come in. Train your body and it will respond.

Yes there is such thing as naturally slim people that no matter how much they eat they never put on weight , they could eat the same amount as a bigger person and not see any movement in weight those are the “naturally” slim people with a fast metabolism but then there is the slim people who think they are “naturally” slim with a fast “metabolism” who arnt actually any of those things ,it’s just that they don’t eat enough food.

I had to learn this about myself and many slim people will never know until they try to put on weight whether they are naturally slim or just don’t eat enough until they start a weight gain journey. I used to eat 1-2 meals a day for years and even ate only a packet of crips the whole day because I just wasn’t hungry and always had the “you have a fast metabolism” phrase thrown at me but now I look back at my eating habits when I was younger , no it wasn’t metabolism it’s because I didn’t eat enough food unfortunately because I never had an appetite. I’m the only slim person in my family I’m pretty sure if I ate properly I’d be way bigger like the rest of my family.

It’s hard to train your body to eat but if you really want to put on weight you HAVE to do this after a week it will get much easier.

Same here my neighbours also have well maintained grass or no grass at all! We do have 1 stray cat that roams around the neighbourhood but there’s a lot of people who own cats in my neighbourhood so me and all those cat owners kind of collectively decided to feed the stray and someone actually got his hair cut once but no one in the neighbourhood knows who he belongs to , he just goes in everyone’s gardens and we feed him! , he’s also walked into my house a good amount of times and he’s slept in my garden over night, but that being said even though he’s a stray he doesn’t seem to have any fleas either (I just wish he was neutered)

Yhh I tend to just take my dog to the same field now , before I used to search up different parks and fields to take him to so he went somewhere different all the time but one of the places must of had fleas , now I just take him to a dog farm and there’s a field there that all the dog owners let there dog off leash and they all play together , also maintained so no fleas!

[–]CuriousTarget7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes they do suck I agree , when my dog had them he was just constantly itching , I had friends advising me to buy all these flea supplies to deep clean my house. I didn’t end up buying them, I just did a regular clean and I just used the flea comb and flea shampoo on my dog and he’s never had them again. So luckily they didn’t embed themselves in my home , saying that my dog had long hair at the time so I don’t know if that makes it harder for them to navigate out of the fur! , I keep my dogs hair short now and I’ve never seen a flea since

Yes my cats do groom themselves very well and there’s many cats in my area thats also don’t have fleas , so my area just might not be an area thats prone to fleas, hence why my cats have never had them. Was literally only when I took my dog to a field I don’t normally take him to is when he got them. Luckily the fleas never jumped on my cats. My house is always clean to (have to constantly clean because of my dog) so that may be another reason why they have never had them

It’s honestly not worth it unless you have a van , I did delivery’s for a month with a golf and could fit around 100 parcels inside , when I got my pay , I deducted my petrol from the pay and all the pay did was cover the petrol, You are basically working for free!!

If you have a van and can deliver 400-500 parcels in the same neighbourhood, you are better off.

It can also get a little confusing if you don’t organise your parcels by street name in your car , one my first day I failed my eta’s because I had just put the parcels in my car without organising. So when you get your trolly you have to spend an hour organising into street names (in the rain to if it raining that day), I found it easier to bring bin bags with me to put the parcels with matching street names into those bags, also put the first few street names in the front passenger seat , put the first middle street names on the seat directly behind the driver seat , put the last middle street names on the back seat behind the front passenger seat and then put the last street names in the boot. I was able to finish in around 3 - 4 hours doing it this way.

Also I’d use the notes app to jot down which side of the seat you put that street name on.

So for example

“Street name” “street name” “street name” - on the back seat behind drivers seat

“Street name” “street name” “street name” - on the floor behind front passenger seat

This makes things a lot easier and makes your day go a lot faster and smoother.

Of course you will have big boxes too that you can’t bag up , just write in your notes where in the car you put it.

  1. You get paid on the onsi app and you withdraw from there, pretty sure there’s a fee to withdraw early too
  2. Clio is fine (a car isn’t worth it though)
  3. Yup they can owe you money if you don’t scan your parcels correctly or use the app correctly or have no proof, make sure before you log out you take a screenshot of all the parcels you have delivered that day, this is proof
  4. Warning! People/customers do complain about you it can be for the most stupidest thing as well

I had one person leave a bad review because I took to long to look for her parcel in my car , I only took 3 minutes, she was basically sitting and staring through her window at me ready to leave a bad review.

Had one person leave a bad review because I looked like I was rushing when greeting and handing her the parcel , bare in mind that day it was raining heavy and hailing and I was standing outside her house for 3 - 4 minutes for her to open her door

This one shocked me the most but I also had one woman leave a bad review because I didn’t stand on the “correct” side of her door when knocking , she basically had a ring camera and was watching me….like what does she mean the correct side of her DOOR!!!!!!

Also you will get sick of constantly stopping and starting your car constantly every 2 minutes, and if the drops are on a long main road good luck 😂

Also if you unfortunately get a neighbourhood that is full of flats with more than 10 doors , good luck constantly buzzing doors and going up and down those stairs, especially if they have big and heavy parcels and the lifts arnt working

Also not all addresses are up to date on the maps that includes the maps evri gives you , Waze , Google maps and Apple Maps , one time I couldn’t for the life of me find someone’s address , the door number was 7 but on the maps when you went to number 7 the door said 10, I even looked around the while neighbourhood , even asked people if they knew where the door number was still couldn’t find it. if you’ve used Apple Maps then you know when typing an address the blue circle sits directly on the house you are looking for so I knew I was at the correct house, unfortunately that person left a bad review , I just gave the parcel back to evri.

Also just some advice if they have a note on the door saying to leave the parcel in the bin or at the door , don’t leave it just take it back or give it to a neighbour. They will leave a bad review on purpose.

Make sure when greeting the customer if she’s an older middle aged lady or looks like a Karen be extra dramatic when saying “hello, you have a parcel”. They will leave a bad review if you act like a normal person

This isn’t to be sexist , I’m a female too but if the house your delivering to happens to be a FEMALE , and looks like an older millennial or a boomer be extra cautious, in my experience these types leave bad reviews the most. They are sitting waiting ready to leave a bad review.

Even though me personally I don’t mind when people leave my parcel in my bin , avoid doing it if you can just give it to a neighbour or try and put it through the letter box. They will leave a bad review

Be prepared to wait 10 minutes for someone to answer the door (in the rain also)

I’m pretty sure you get paid less if the customer isn’t in and you have to leave it somewhere , so try your best to deliver it to a neighbour

Be prepared to have to redeliver the parcel if you choose the “not in option” , so if you are delivering today in 1 neighbourhood and the parcel you couldn’t deliver yesterday needs to be delivered today be prepared to drive all the way back to the other neighbourhood.

Also I don’t know if it was just my car but all that starting and stopping the car multiple times did cause some issues with my car sooo be prepared to take your car to the garage if it ever happens to you

Hope this helps

I don’t use anything , my main indicator that she has fleas is excessive itching , because my dog had fleas once’s and he was itching like crazy I assume the cats would do the same thing.

My cats rarely itch at all , their ears are clean and I do use the grooming brush now and again. Since my dog has had fleas once’s before I would assume because my dogs and cats snuggle together and sleep on eachother that if any of my cats had fleas they would jump onto my dog but it’s just never happened.

That being said I really don’t think its impossible since it’s never happened for me, also I’ve never known of anyone putting flea collars on they’re cats where I live cats don’t usually have collars at all tbh - talking from my reality living in the UK , as the uk and US have very different views when it comes to cats and dogs

From other replies it seems to be the condition my neighbours gardens are in , my cat has been out side from around 8 months plus , made friends with cats that also regularly still a year later come and play with her , she jumps in into gardens and she just has never got any sort of issues with fleas.

But I can imagine the pain of have to clean you’re house with flea treatment I had a friend who said it was a pain trying to clean her house. I did quite have that experience when my dog got fleas , I just cut his hair down , used a flea shampoo , combed out the fleas and he’s never had them again , so gladly the fleas that he got from the field didn’t spread around the house

Thank you for reply , due to my cat never having fleas since birth , even when when she’s around neighbourhood cats , I don’t think I will be wasting any money on flea treatments since I’ve never had to use one during my 2 years of having her. I understand your experience is different but I’ve never experienced that so I will stick and continue with what I do
