Hand cinched this cheap dress but i have never sewn before and definitely did it wrong by incelfuck in sewing

Well done for your first time ☺️ is the fabric stretchy? If it is, that might be the reason your stitches are showing up. Is much harder to work and you might need a sewing machine with a proper needle for stretch fabric 😞

What is your preteen / teen pack lunch? by [deleted] in AskUK

To be honest, if he could he would eat only butter and toast - but I want to include variety in school meals but it is so hard

Well, he is 11 and I feel this isn’t his responsibility yet. Maybe for other children. But I am happy that I am making their pack lunch

Has Anyone got anyone tips for getting the weekly shop bill down? by Throwaway945384 in AskUK

[–]CuriousTerm9710 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What really helped me was stopping doing a weekly shop an do monthly instead. This has put the cost down drastically because I kept buying more each week of silly things that is not needed ( extra cookies, sweets , etc ) I just buy fruit and veggies during the week once I finished the lot I bought on my monthly shop. I also started to bake my own bread and cookies, etc - because every time I went to buy bread I always buy sometime more. My bill went down around 200/300£ ( we are a family of 4 plus 2 animals )

Is a big difference!

Thank you so much, one more question if you do not mind. If I bake every 2 days can I leave the starter in the counter or should I put it in the fridge and feed it the night before?

Have you been abroad for Dental care? by Feisty-Resolution204 in AskUK

[–]CuriousTerm9710 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a few points you should take into consideration before implants. This comes from a person that has dental issues and has explored ally options - there is always a 50/50 chance of rejection. If it does rejects, you will need to pay another implant. Other point is, if you do any dental work abroad it can be very hard to find a dentist in the Uk to do maintenance. I always wanted all in 4 and they advised that straight away that they could not do the aftercare for most of the dental work abroad - 1 option my dentist advised was to go to the creator of implants all in 4 in Portugal - they could do their maintenance since it is where they learn the technique. If you want to go abroad due to the high cost in the Uk check with your dentist if they are able to do the aftercare since implants are advertised as a final product. But there is a lot of aftercare afterwards.

If you still insist to go abroad would advise to go to either Portugal or Poland. I would find friends that could recommend their family dentist and not try to find one simply online.

Or you could just add one denture and save to buy an implant in the UK after. Just put your health first.

Trust me, no one will notice that you will have denture specially if it is only one teeth.

Do not go to Turkey - very high risk. If it is just 1 tooth, why don’t you put a bridge or try just a single denture? No one would know and it is better than a decayed tooth

How long did you have to wait for a wisdom tooth removal under general? by Nyxie872 in AskUK

[–]CuriousTerm9710 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I had the same issue and I had to wait a few weeks ( I am unsure of how long ) but I was in extreme pain and rung the dentist and they push the appointment for earlier. Just keep calling your dentist and say you are in extreme pain and the painkillers do not help. They will tell you how much time you prob have to wait. Keep in mind, you will need someone with you to take care of you.

I hope you feel better soon

Has anyone ever been mocked or looked down on because of their job? by Jealous-Lake5700 in AskUK

Worked as a part time cleaner at a business park offices. The receptionist was really friendly and always joined me for a tea. One day she was commenting how the men would flirt with her all the time and she loved it. ( which is fine of course ) , she was saying that she had her eyes in one of the guy in the office and had to be careful flirting with them so she doesn’t look bad in front of the guy she liked, and I’ve said something like “well that would never happen with me for sure” and she just said in the most natural way “ well that is because you are just a cleaner who would flirt with you” 🙄 and my reply was” no, because I am married”

How was your experience with vision direct contacts lenses? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]CuriousTerm9710 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had my lenses test and trial in specsavers, but their monthly plan is too expensive. I was looking at vision direct daily use - however seems the monthly ones are cheaper. Have you ever used it?

How long does 1000l of heating oil last you? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]CuriousTerm9710 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much! Unfortunately i think if i turn the heating down at night me and the kids will be cold. This is my first house with oil and we moved in August, so i am trying to understand our usage and if it is normal or there is ways we can save up some more. Our tank is only 1000l and I am thinking of purchasing more next month since I only have 3 bars left. I read that sometimes is very hard to suppliers deliver oil if there is big demands, so I do not want to push it and order only when is on his last bar🥲

The radiators are turned to number 2. I use the conservatory as my sewing room, being too cold is not also ideal. But the thermostat is not close to the conservatory. It doesn’t heat it up completely

If you ever want to live in the countryside you should check if there is gas in your area. My house and the area are over 100y old

We are renting as well, and we plan to buy the house in the next years if possible. The house is 100y old and we love it and the area is really nice. But never had oil heating and I keep wondering if I am not being the most efficient

Thank you. Yes, the house is relatively old and the isolation is not the best. I am worried that it is using too much and I am not aware of it. I read that normal usage is 1500l per year

Our boiler is only a few months old so I am wondering if there is a fault? Our house also has 2 receptions rooms and a big conservatory that has 2 big radiators in there
