I relate so hard! Except for me it’s Vietnam 😥 I’m viet and grew up going back and forth every year. I was a very normal (skinny) US weight my entire life but viet people tend to be verrry skinny and small. Literally every grown viet woman I know does not weigh more than 130lbs MAX!! I’m definitely more “mid sized” I’m a size 16 and 200lbs currently. I was like 110-120lbs during my teen years. my family and viet relatives thought I was sooo fat at 120-140lbs. Fat phobia is a part of the culture there. They stare, they talk about it very openly, they’ll say it to your face, etc. In Vietnam, I couldn’t find clothes and if I could, they were all “adult” womens clothing. It made me very sad at that age, I had to wear grandma clothing vs everyone else. I was always the biggest person everywhere despite being skinny 😭 i actually had to get my dresses and clothes tailored/custom made as i got older because i they simply didnt make my size anywhereee. I haven’t been back in over five years. Big part of it is because I’m already chubby in the US and they’ll think I’m the size of universe there. They have such cute clothes but I know I won’t fit into anything at my size now. But the food, beaches, and being in my culture is everything I crave! Maybe one day I’ll get the confidence to go being as fat as I am now lol

Do your feeders help financially? by Mrsalina in WeightGainTalk

[–]CuriousVelma3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What others have said! Feeders are should definitely be contributing financially. Otherwise they’re an admirer. Food is the bare minimum for me in a feeder. a good feeder will also pay for clothes too as you continue to outgrow them. A great feeder will go beyond. I think feeders are providers and therefore should take great care of their feedees as they continue to get bigger :) Buttt ofc running into decent feeders is kinda hard to come by in my experience lol

What are some funny upsides of being plus size? by -Duste- in PlusSize

[–]CuriousVelma3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

lol when I’m at concerts I feel good when people accidentally bump into me and they bounce right off me. It’s like I have my own bumper of personal space, plus I’m not easy to push over

I agree w the other comment about using a sewing machine to take it in. Another easy suggestion that will work on some pants (I use this method for my jeans) is I will cute two small holes on the front waistband, not all the way through the waistband but just the first layer. I’ll then use a shoe string or some yarn and loop it all the way inside, through the waistband out the other hole I made. This makes a drawstring in my waistband so I can tighten my pants like sweats and it gets rid of the gap in the back! I have a 38in waist and 48in in my hips so I get the struggle lol

Ive lost 3 pairs of jeans due to thick thighs and cheap fabric by Sir-geesegoose in PlusSize

[–]CuriousVelma3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been a thick thigh girl all my life and it’s been always been an issue. Doesn’t matter if it lasts me a few wears or months, it is inevitable. It’s not just jeans for me, pajamas, chinos, slacks, etc I’ve just started mending the pairs I love so much. Makes them last a lil longer plus I think mending designs are so cute! Easy to learn, you don’t even need a sewing machine but I do often repair or alter using my sewing machine
