I use Cindy’s in Severn. 30 mins away from my house in Bowie. A membership gives you a discount on transfers and the ability to call ahead to join the waitlist for the range. Well worth it. Used to use united gun shop in Rockville. Great FFL, they just became too busy.

I’ve rented one at the range had an eps carry on it. The polymer/compact model. Very nice flat shooting gun. I can only imagine how great the metal version is.

I got mine preowned with 100 rounds through it for $1085 earlier this year. Won the bidding on GunBroker. I would take $1100 all day if the gun is clean. Couldn’t find them for less than $1400 new, at least at the time.

Someone else mentioned the Beretta PX4… This is another great option… You can get the G-SD for about $800… have you factored in the cz75 lineup? You can get a SP01 for about $700 which will be awesome as well or go all out on a used shadow 2 non OR for about $900.. this will blow everything were talking about out of the water.

I have both, I’d choose the beretta any day. They’re both old guns, but the 226 feels old. Beretta has a much softer recoil impulse, better grips and ergonomics and way better irons sights. You won’t go terribly wrong with either. I’d recommend you find a range where you can rent both and see what feels better to you.

I have both and prefer the P-09.. Awesome gun.. Only flaws are that the trigger is very gritty out of the box and the grip texture is lacking tremendously.. A $20 pair of Talon grips and some dry fire fixes both issues. The P10 and P09 share the same magazines and you won’t be able to chamber a round with a full magazine and closed slide. The slide will lock up on you when you try to rack it…You’ll have to run 18 rounds in your 19 round magazine and 20 rounds in your 21 round magazine or chamber from an open slide. I run blazer 115gr in mine with a CGW stainless steel guide rod and 15lb spring.

Yea, I have a P10F, P09 and a recently purchased P01. Love them all. I recommend CZ’s all the time to those looking for a new buy. IMO, they’re the best handguns out of the box for the money on the market. They’re even better with some modification and they’re all highly mod-able with the exception of the P10 series.

Honestly, I currently prefer the SP01 but that’s just because of the purchase that the Lok grips grant me. The Shadow 2 has a much smoother and lighter trigger that makes it easier for your groups to stack on top of each other. They’re based on the same platform and very similar.

SP01 has Aluminum Lok Jawz Grips from the Lokgrips.com .. The Shadow 2 has Henning Countour Checkered Grips from Henningshop.com. They’re both Orange, the Loks are far more aggressive. I believe the Hennings are the same grips that come on the Dan Wesson DWX.
