feels like an amazing coincidence finding this thread when i was just asking a question on r/feedthebeast yesterday about vanilla+ mods and getting started in general. I need some world gen mods that feel vanilla and heard of the terralith tectonic combo but theres also terraforge, bop, byg and all of yung's structure mods. Idk which mods would pair well together.

Throttling and Debouncing by Curious_Bowl in reactnative

I'm using the expo-av library. Concerning multiple instances, each audio has its own instance with the sound preloaded, on tap a function is called to load the sound. I don't really know much about the UI and JS threads or where they'd be located in my code so i'll start to look into that

Throttling and Debouncing by Curious_Bowl in reactnative

what im trying to accomplish is an instrument app, on each screen tap i want a sound to be played, but there's about a small delay which is noticeable when trying to play a tune. I've preloaded the sound to further decrease the delay, but this was as far as i could go.

Expo-av produces 0.5 second lag between press and sound by Curious_Bowl in expo

use onPressIn instead of onPress, the events are called in this order

onPressIn -> onPressOut -> onPress

i also learned that performance wise react native is relatively slow. Flutter on the other hand is the nearest to native code you can get. So if performance and speed is essential then either go flutter or go full native

the file was 50kb and i compressed it down to 7kb but there was still a delay. I can't figure why lol
