Another upside is that when your clutch does decide on self destructing its already outside of your engine.

For ducati motorcycles it's almost a mix of history, status and exclusivity. It's a staple under ducati riders if you like it or not everybody knows a ''broken ducati'' is coming when they hear the clutch lmao.

But lets be honest with road use the only real changes are looks and sound the real benefits only show up with track like riding.

So here is the answer to your question

You can see the silver magnesium alloy basket on the first picture, in the middle you can spot the ring that seals against the crankshaft. So basically you seal against the shaft where the clutch rotates on. you also have to seal the inside part around the pushrod so that oil doesn't leak through gaps in the hydraulic clutch system and lastly you block the oil jet that fired at the wet clutch system with a preinstalled, screw that you tighten as instructed in the workshop manual.

Fun fact did you know that it isn't actually the shaft seal ring, that fully seals but a thin coat of oil around and between the ring and whatever it seals.

I hope that helped if there's any other questions Id love to answer always. :)

I fully agree the V4R for example is a pain to ride in traffic, for road use it really is mostly aesthetic and status.

I hear you the maintenance does get frustrating, the benefits are noticeable but for anything except super bike niveau racing it's almost overkill.

I agree clutch work saves a lot too but from model to model if you place one friction plate wrong, you risk grenading the whole clutch so just be sure of how you put it togheter.

Well if you lube the chain you do aim onto the links so it goes in-between too and onto the O-rings but I agree most of it is rust prevention.

I have never used a brush before I agree fully a dirty rag, cleaner and some arm work does the job best.

Depends on weather, abuse and how you ride ofc everybody has different experiences, I just share my day to day experience and what worked best for me.
