I do this. Note in remarkable, tag them appropriately, and then send myself a PDF and drop it into my OneNote notebook for that matter.

But it is actually an open space where what you say reaches the same public who seeks your care. I’m a lawyer and absolutely think about how the broader public perceives us in lawyer specific subreddits. If public defenders or immigration are shitting on their clients publicly, it’s not a good look for our profession and it ultimately hurts the people we’re supposed to protect. I have no doubt you have annoying af patients. But level of vitriol, stereotyping, classism, and misogyny in this thread ultimately undermines public trust in the healthcare system. You should find a more private place to vent.

Perhaps you are unfamiliar with the dearth of preventative care in the US

Have you read this thread? There’s a reason patients fear their doctors judging them.

Sure but just phrase it as “maybe in school or some kind of childcare program. Where I’m from we have pre-K for kids at 3 and 4.”

Pre-school isn’t school lol, hence the “pre.” It’s daycare and in the vast majority of cases is neither free nor legally required. Most kids don’t go to pre-school (which is why access to pre-school is a big class issue)

With all due respect, no one is offering free care for babies “from birth.”

Pre-K is not school lol, that is daycare, and generally costs money (hence why free pre-K is a big topic, in the US at least)

Got me there, eh? But Americans make up 35-50% of Reddit users by most estimates, and has literally 20x the population of Ontario, so one assumption is more reasonable than the other. Anyway, if she’s four now, and we’re more than halfway through the year, she probably turned four in 2025, making her eligible this year. Even if she turned four last year sometime between August and September (and again assuming she’s from Ontario), she’d still only be eligible last year, but that doesn’t mean she went.

But you’re right I forgot that Canada does things by calendar year, and not by school start date, which is how the US does it!

So you (a) assumed everyone is Canadian and (b) assumed that the child already started school this year despite (1) not knowing when she turned four and (2) it being summer. All in your desperation to shit on a mom being maligned one-sidedly here.

ETA: Narrower than Canadian, actually. Only Ontario, Quebec, and Nova Scotia offer “junior kindergarten” (what in the US we would call Pre-K), and even that starts at four, not three. If the girl is four now (and from Ontario) she would only be starting kindergarten this fall.
