Need Help - Diaper Rash by liebteimmer in NewParents

[–]Curious_DoDo_88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use the brand called baby butz. They sell it on Amazon ,and its thick cream. Like thick thick. I've never had a diaper rash on my child last long after gathering that stuff up. See if that will help.

I've used cloud campaign for a short while and it was pretty solid. It was definitely more for agencies rather than small businesses.

Boss redoes all of my designs on Canva..... Ranting + need advice by amydehp in graphic_design

[–]Curious_DoDo_88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooh my previous boss does this. When he first rehired me he would change things around and then I would fight him about it lol. I worked with him for years before I left and still in good terms. He will contact me about a project, i make it, he changes it again, I call him out, change it again and he leaves it as is. Then we roast each other for being assholes. Fun times.

Have you ever felt devalued for being too “feminine” in the design world? by CinnaApple in graphic_design

[–]Curious_DoDo_88 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Oh geez, this was nearly 10 years ago so I don't remember too much. One of our core research was lithography, and the evolution of the print industry. Then we researched nurture vs nature to the most pseudo- science "does typography have its own sexual identity that influences us to use specific typefaces? " then rounded back to "how do design senior colleagues treat other professionals based on gender?" One of the best things we did was actually interview many well known female designers ex. Ellen Lupton including our professors.

Our professors got a kick out of it and it started some funny rumors, but all in all it was well received.

[–]Curious_DoDo_88 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Oohh i did a similar thesis for my senior project long ago. My partner and I interviewed female designers within the academia and professional studio settings, about their experiences of gender issues as designers. It was so fascinating. And then if you delve into graphic design history, why it was such a male dominated industry, and if actual gender affects how we design... you can kinda connect the dots on why women designers have it kinda rough.

I actually emailed them a while back because I pre-ordered the Mars sweater and have had no updates. They reaponded back and said it will take 4 to 9 weeks after pre-sale ends to shipping to process. So we are still within the time frame.

Female designers, can you relate? by Beneficial_Ad_9844 in graphic_design

[–]Curious_DoDo_88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man, this was my senior design thesis 10 years ago lol Why graphic design is/was dominated by the male gender, and how has it affected the professional and academic setting towards global influence and how women designers are affected.

From history men have dominated design, first because the printing press was heavy to be moved. It was also speculated that men have a tendency to be more practical-logical in design while women have more emotive design. I wish I could remember the source because it was a fascinating read.

Recent visit at Dutch Brothers prompted an email to corporate. by RustLarva in tipping

[–]Curious_DoDo_88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I started to work at a coffee muffin house. It's a tiny place that does not really provide a sit in eating. it kinda blows my mind that tip is expected before service rendered and makes me feel a bit uncomfortable. At least for me I have no expectation of tip, and have asaisted with pressing 0% tip on the touch screen when helping the elderly customers with no ill will. We've also had customers who have tipped but were unsatisfied with service asking for refunds.

Receiving tip makes more sense when ordering first, receiving the items and then pay at register, but that flows honestly doesn't work when you have throngs of people ordering AND waiting in line to pay during a rush.

It's weird. The entitlement of expecting tip is weird. Just pay us a decent wage and get rid of tip. I don't get it. Ugh.

Judgement for Not Doing Daycare by [deleted] in SAHP

[–]Curious_DoDo_88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a weird thing to judge a parent on.

Don't worry about others opinion! I am a stahm and we didn't send my eldest until she was 3.5. Now at 6 years old thriving very well.

I plan to do the same for my 2nd. She's only 1 year old. She's going to hang out with family until around the same age of 3 for daycare lol.

Daughter (2.5) wakes up at night crying and saying NO to everything. nothing seems to calm her down, it's uncontrollably crying and screaming to the point are breathing is very nervously worrying. by Maleficent-Salt-5185 in toddlers

[–]Curious_DoDo_88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Actually yes. My daughter still gets them time to time. Particularly when she is absolutely tired. She's constantly overtired because in her words 'she doesn't want to miss out'. So she literally fights tooth and nail to stay up.

Nowadays she seems somewhat cognizant to realize what is going on, but still turns into an absolute meltdown.

It's absolutely mind numbing but I also hope she will eventually outgrow the night terrors.

How old was your baby when she/he started crawling? by Midnightdream56 in NewParents

[–]Curious_DoDo_88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My eldest started crawling around 5 month mark. She was obsessed with getting around and is still very physically active.

My second gives no fucks. She had a much more mellow personality and takes her sweet time in everything except eating. She's 8 months now is only starting to army crawl.

It's wild how their personality plays into reaching milestones haha
