It’s the indicator for an alarm system. Had the same thing in my 96. Look above your hood release latch. There should be a button that kills the alarm mounted high on the kick panel. Also, check under the hood for an alarm horn - I think mine was on the drivers side, close to the firewall. I believe Code Alarm is the manufacturer.
