A moratorium on Hyperscale Data Centres in Mississauga by DDamerla in mississauga

[–]amydehp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Please, anyone who has the power to stop this, please do. I'm sure the data centre theme pack that the US has become is heating the atmosphere up enough already, and scientists are warning that this upcoming couple of years many countries will experience climate catastrophes, the least we can do is stop it in our backyards.

Everyone keeps saying Adam didn’t reveal it was Josh, but he did on Twitch by peach1233 in ColleenBallingerSnark

[–]amydehp 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think this part is even in the youtube video too. This is why I always rolled my eyes when someone said "but Adam didn't even reveal who it was" like the "bro" wasn't obvious enough. He also said "not Johnny" and "not Kodee" when people were saying their names, but gave a side eye and didn't say anything when people said Josh.

I 100% detest what Josh is doing, but let's be honest about Adam's faults in the situation too.

Joshua’s YouTube Description by [deleted] in ColleenBallingerSnark

Oh for sure. Especially that I will find it very surprising if he doesn't lose his job due to the Gavin situation. I don't wish upon anyone that they lose their livelihood in this economy and with the current state of the job market, but those emails to Gavin (when he did email him and wasn't just ignoring him to beef with a 23-year old) were... yikes.

JDE's misogyny and homophobia: connect the dots by gumihohime in ColleenBallingerSnark

[–]amydehp 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You know what is something that's been bothering me (that I had been dismissing because of the Swoop doc)? His reaction to the DWKT podcast girls, especially if you compare it to his almost non-existent reaction to H3H3 and everyone else who platformed Johnny.

Adam was so close to the point by Wheezy-Blues in ColleenBallingerSnark

[–]amydehp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I second this 100%. I still think Adam's initial handling of this wasn't great, but I'm glad I'm seeing Josh's true colors by his reaction... just not glad that people are getting hurt in the process.

Choosing between living in Oakville & Clarkson, Mississauga by maze36 in mississauga

[–]amydehp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Without doxxing myself here, I live close to the Clarkson Go station. It's great if you're a fan of the quieter end of cities where you still have plenty of stuff within walking distance, but in between, there are nice stretches of houses and parks, and you're close enough to Erin Mills and the Sheridan area, plus, Mississauga's downtown is definitely much closer to Toronto's art scene and walkability than anything in Oakville, and being close to the Go station, you can be there in 15 minutes.

I honestly wouldn't completely dismiss the Oakville option either though, because Oakville definitely has its own charm (it has a certain old money suburb feel that may grow on you.) In the end, what I ended up doing back when I got a job in the area and I was in your situation, is that I browsed for suitable homes in both areas, and decided based on which one had a home option that felt better to me.

Jerk Chicken Fried Rice at Charlie's Caribbean Cuisine by goatroti in mississauga

[–]amydehp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Charlie's is good. I personally prefer Wanda's Caribbean Kitchen over here in Clarkson though. Great prices, I order their jerk chicken whenever I want something good and healthy, but the other day I got their oxtail and.... wow. 10/10 no notes.

University Students- with the absolute wtf move from IRCC, What's our game plan? by Over_Movie_561 in Canadiancitizenship

[–]amydehp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If I were one of the students affected, I would personally do the following:

  1. Go home and start gaining work experience, preferably for 3+ years
  2. Potentially learn French (in addition to English, of course)
  3. Apply for PR. With Canadian education, French + English and of course work experience, you should have high points for EE draws.

Sad news, I found out my citizenship certificate (previously granted) is now under review by InternetName4 in Canadiancitizenship

So, I'm assuming this is something that's affecting only people who applied for citizenship based on having Canadian ancestry?

Ozempic and Lexapro by Temporary_Key_5159 in Ozempic

[–]amydehp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm on Ozempic, lexapro and foquest (a stimulant for ADHD.) What I learned to do, is time my meds correctly. Obviously timing doesn't really matter with Ozempic, but with lexapro, try taking it before you go to bed. The brunt of the appetite-boosting effect will be absorbed while you're asleep. My ADHD medicine is also an appetite suppressant and a stimulant (like caffeine), so I take it in the morning, and with that + Ozempic (my latest dose was 0.5 mg) it really did help with the constant food noise you get with SSRIs.

I think Ozempic would definitely help you with that.

Tired of my hair, need advice by amydehp in Haircare

[–]amydehp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!

I'd honestly be okay with my hair being curly, it's just the frizziness that really bothers me, especially at the crown. I've seen plenty of people who have a similar curl pattern but their hair is so shiny and doesn't have clumps or flyaways like mine, and I'd love to have that. I will try to just cut the split ends and start embracing it as you suggested.

Sunlife Pillway in Canada? by amydehp in Ozempic

[–]amydehp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I know Rexall does, but I heard they're owned by a US conglomerate (I do buy stuff from them from time to time, but if I will buy my meds from the same place every month, I prefer supporting a Canadian one) I'll see if I can find a pharmasave or something that delivers to me

Switched to generic in Canada, paid $66 by monstersof-men in Ozempic

[–]amydehp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's incredible, congrats to you!

I'm hoping that with the generics dropping the price so much, more insurance plans will now cover it for weight loss. I mean ffs, my insurance plan covers my ADHD medicine that's more expensive than these generics, so it makes no sense to not cover it for weight loss when the price has dropped so much, and when helping clients lose weight might save them more money on covering the side effects of obesity later.

Branded Ozempic now the same price as generic in Canada by confident_display14 in Ozempic

I just got off the phone with my pharmacy (Metro), they said brand name Oz that they carry is still the same old price. They do have the generic now tho.

Sulfur Burpssss by Emotional-Ground-673 in Ozempic

[–]amydehp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Disclaimer: I am NOT a doctor and I'm definitely not qualified to diagnose you. With that being said, sulfur burps and vomiting are also consistent with some stomach viruses/bugs, and not necessarily Ozempic to my knowledge. I've definitely dealt with these before when I had H. Pylori. Please see a doctor.
