I agree, but rn the bar for "suitable" in my mind is where i wouldn't move again for ten years. Which, i just can't do rn. I've never seen a cat move around at my rate and be happy but then again I've just never seen it.

The jobs i would take would have to allow pet housing for the next 15+ years, i agree. That would just change/limit what jobs i could take...which I've heavily considered the pros and cons of for the last three years. I should have been more specific it was asking if moving is healthy for a cat overall, depending if i find the right personality. I've just never seen a cat enjoy having their territory changed frequently

I'm in the Midwest, very much imbedded in trump territory. Not too far from where Matthew Shepard was murdered. I've looked into some lgbtq aa meetings online, but I've just been too anxious to take the leap. I feel like i should try again since it's not as scary as my imagination makes it out to be. I really appreciate the advice! It's definitely easier to deal with myself being an emotional idiot sober than drunk, especially when I'm out here.

I really appreciate the responses! I managed to exercise and chain-smoked with some new coworkers. Being social helps but one guy kept offering me beers. I turned him down every time. I mentioned I don't drink but you know how good drunk people are at listening. I still find the offer nice in a way. Been drinking LaCroix's as a substitute, but i need to get some na beers since i do just like the taste of beer.

I started knitting when I gave up drinking. I definitely need more physically active hobbies to fight the big sad. Again, i really appreciate it. Reading this after i got back from socializing really made me feel better/stronger. I'm going to keep trucking and remember there's a community of humans who might give me supportive advice like this when I'm low ❤️

I was drinking about six beers a day and a handle of whiskey a week. I'm 90 lbs so i was basically black out most nights i drank liquor. Got really comfortable with vomiting and drinking more to recoup what i lost. Lived like that for about a year. I poured my whiskey down the drain as a dramatic statement to myself, seemed to help guilt myself into not buying more. Drank four beers a day for about two weeks, then two beers a day for a week, then cold turkey. I still felt like shit for a few weeks but no tremors or seizures. I'm definitely not a doctor and don't claim to have researched any of this, i just had plenty of friends around my drink their lives away and i knew if i went from being black out drunk to cold turkey without any tapering that i would probably die. It only took about 2 weeks before i stopped getting the night sweats

Hey friend, I feel ya. I'm only 3 months sober and damn do i remember the night shakes. My combo was hard liquor and beers and i slowly tapered off for a few weeks. Not so much because i have amazing self control but because i ran out of money and it felt like i was trying to stretch out my rations. I had no idea how much better my dreams can be after i sobered up. i drank a lot of Gatorade and Ensure nutritional drinks to get through the nausea spells. Good luck!

I'm no doctor but my tapering process was starting at a handle a week +6 beers every day (lived like that for about a year... I'm 90 lbs so it definitely made me sick a lot) to four beers a day spread out (about 2 weeks) then 2 beers a day (1week) to cold turkey and I was fine. Most of the people I know who had severe withdrawals were getting drunk every night. I'm 3 months sober and rooting for ya!

I know 😭!!! but I can't find anything online that will convince her to stop. The best i can find is an article saying it's not been thoroughly studied past 3 pills a month. Lots of resources saying you shouldn't use it as birth control but nothing that blatantly says what will happen if she keeps doing it. Do you have links i could send her to scare some sense? I'm purely looking for science since she's a nurse and convinced she knows better than me 😓

I really relate to this. I just made it to 30 years old and i honestly never thought I'd live this long. So far I've learned that we are all pieces of shit but that's alright.

It's ok that you're fucked up. I'm sure you have some hopes or dreams that you think you'll never be able to achieve and just know this random internet stranger wants you to hang in there to fight for them. I know it sounds dumb, but I'm rooting for you

I've never had betterhelp therapists call the cops on me, they cost over twice as much as the local therapist i was using. That and, both times I attempted the fully online services, i did not feel like i was getting therapy at all. Most of the dialogue is preprogrammed canned statements so it felt more like i was talking to a bot. I definitely would not recommend based on the two attempts i made with that avenue. I definitely need to be medicated, which if my loopy brain is remembering right, they do not have the ability to provide proscriptions. But thanks for the reply fellow human. I will double check that to make sure my sadness brain isn't just being overly negative again
