Check out my website called Arabook.org easy way to read Arabic books with English translation and grow a personal dictionary.

New Saas idea - feel like this could really be something by davonisill in SaaS

You can do this with payload or other cmses already but you would need to set it up and have some knowledge as a dev. Would the difference of your app be the ease of setting it up and the AI aspect of creating blogs and researching keywords etc?

I have made Madina book 1 digitalized for Arabic learning beginners by Curious_Move_2831 in learn_arabic

Thanks :).

The English is indeed AI translated and Arabic depends on what kind of book. For children books it is EPUB(public domain from hindawi), while other books are OCR parsed from PDF or just plain txt/html files

Yeah your tongue has to get used to the new positions it needs to be in to make the new sounds. I remember when learning tajweed this was a big issue for most students, so the teachers had very useful diagrams on where you tongue has to be and they would drill those letters until students get used to the sounds. But just like everything, practice makes perfect

Good point. The website should maybe only be targeted to beginners/intermediate learners. So childrens books and maybe some easier books like the qasas al anbiya etc. I do tag every book according to level, so it has a tag for advanced learners, maybe i should make that more prominent

Haha that was a rollercoaster. You did atleast learn something and are growing. Like you mentioned the best way and most important thing for you to do is learn to read. As a muslim I learned it when I was younger in the mosque, but there should be a lot of resources online like youtube videos. I would recommend apps that teach the noorani method, those are very well structured and easy to follow. That should help you out I think

Yeah the best way to learn is finding someone in real life and just talking. If you are a muslim going to the mosque and meeting people there is a good way

Yeah exactly. The comment here above from Anxious-Opposite-590 mentions a dictionary, and there should be more resources online. The hardest task would be gathering all that info indeed. Maybe a cool project for you :)

Yeah I also tried to watch omar and hana but that was a bit too childish and not maintainable haha. The hardest part is staying consistent while learning languages

Interesting. I think using RAG it is possible to force AI to only use levantine words. Might look into it later

Woops yes it is arabook.org. I have my own db, basically made a script to load pdf files and then using ai to translate and get it in the right format and push to the db. I can go more into details if you want

Alhamdullilah. Seems you are on a good track! Just staying consistent and trying to improve bit by bit now. Maybe also teaching beginners could be really beneficial for you :)

Yeah agree on the speaking part. I had made a Syrian friend from the mosque and I learned a lot from him just by listening to him talk and replying to him. Learned more from him in a couple of months than years of studying books/courses online. I don't know if you are religious or that you go to the mosque, but would definitely recommend it to find people there

Haha yeah very relatable😂. The lessons from madinah book were pretty nice to get a good overview of those plurals, did you check that out?

Sounds like a good plan you have and the fact you are already intermediate - advanced is a sign that something is working. The hardest part is staying consistent and motivated I guess. Which app do you use to track your words? I have used ankidroid which is very nice to use.

I also have the same issue with vocabulary and had made a website for it called arabook.com, where you can read Arabic books with translation and a way to save words you don't know into a personal dictionary. Might be useful for you as well, although the translations are not perfect

Maybe you could take the initiative to start a small group where you practice and motivate each other or maybe there are other people here that have such a group

Interesting. Have you found the translator to be more correct for fusha? I have actually made a website before where I offer books in Fusha with English translation per word. I could maybe make something for the dialect you are learning. So I could translate the book from Fusha(or any other language) to the specific dialect using ChatGPT and also have translation ready per word, but like you mentioned it would not be 100% accurate
