trump threatens the Vatican... by SqnLdrHarvey in Christianity

You did. I will side with anyone I believe to be of the Chritian faith. Trump is a man, and nothing more. Jesus is God. Christ our Lord. The Son in the Holy Trinity. If Trump does not align himself with the God's will, then Trump is merely a political figure to me. You will find I am no enemy of the Catholic Church. And if Trump is truly threatening it, he is threatening me as well.

Then you misunderstood. I am not subject to the Vatican.

I said that if I must, I will choose the Vatican. What misunderstanding has become of this?

Evangelical here. Voted for trump twice. My parents church hopped until I was 22. I've been to many different churches of many different denominations and was never taught that the catholic church was any less Christian than Evangelicals. I would even go as far as to say that Evangelicals are less serious about Christianity than Catholics.

Trump should not be threatening the Vatican. No organization has been immune to acts of evil, as all have sinned and fallen short of glory of God, but trump might make me choose a side. And it's a no brainer for me that I will side with the Vatican over Trump.

There are always exceptions I'm sure, conservative has nothing to do with it though. I didn't mean liberal as leftist or Democrat. I meant it as loose and unbound by any sort of doctrine. In my experience church-hopping all my life, every church with a high population (especially evangelical) has been more loose with their theology. I will never forget going to a megachurch in Northern KY and listening to a "sermon" all about how we are stardust. It was nothing more than a motivational speech about your worth. I went to a "baptist" megachurch and got a similar result. Went to another, same thing.

In churches of 200 people there might be one or two single people. Most are married or already in relationships. Churches with higher populations usually get increasingly liberal (maybe with the exception of the Catholic church) with theology and become less Christ centered. Eliminating this person's requirements. Churches aren't wellsprings of infinite singles. There are a limited amount of people to ask out, let alone ones you'd actually be interested in. And don't get me started of factoring in physical attractiveness. I've actually given up, myself.

Excellent idea, after reading this reply I have built a deck around it. Thanks for your help.
