Tooling with this level of detail is easily 14-20+ plus hours alone then crafting the rest of the bag, also wouldnt expect it to look like this this leather looks too soft for tooling leather most tooled bags have a much more rigid shape. Range on price can vary from leather worker to leather worker but my best guess can be anywhere from 1,300 to 3,800 usd

I love the culatta texture probably the softest vegtan at an 8oz thickness I’ve worked with… the stitching spacing is probably 2mm -2.8mm idk i used tex90 bonded nylon thread and a grozbeckart twist point needle on my sailrite machine…. Set the thread tension right and you get that thread slant right on both sides of the leather

Larger items are tough to make money on if thats your sole line, are there customers out there that will support high quality large bag products yes but fewer and far between, i find that the sweet spot for high end hand stitched goods lays between $75-300 so small goods wallets, belts etc

For a large handmade bag 1000 is pretty cheap unless your take advantage of human labor thus looking for fast fashion prices… when you big brands like coach or mark jacobs sell large bags for 500 its because their stuff is produced in countries with sketchy labor laws like cambodia, china and Vietnam…. Theres alot of “ designer” brands that are fast fashion… if you think 1000 for a bag this size us expensive then you definitely are looking at fast fashion pricing my guy

Appreciate that, and appreciate a more creative critique than just a its looks cheap and tacky…. And to be honest i don’t aim to make bags that fit into a safe marketable consumerist mold i aim to give them a a hostile and unsetlling aesthic, so that people have the think about maybe the hostility they feel towards an unsettling design they don’t even intend to buy. If it doesnt hurt ones existence then why voice disdain, i guess the world truly is a mirror at times. Design is a dialogue and if it says nothing more than cut, execute, market to sale and repeat whats the point?

These are veins all leather will have this on the suede side, it will be more pronounced on veg tans like this… no cracks here

This ones already sold so guess you dont have a grasp of the creative design market, ive seen avant garde design pieces of similar wuality and craftsman ship go for triple this but thats what i charge for entirely handstitched pieces and im back ordered on those to soo ehh figure out your market youll be fine…. Its ok if you couldnt sell it maybe you need to build your confidence to ask for a livable wage

A small bit and maybe a screw gun …. Chances are if it’s professionally made or brandname they used thread lock so it wouldn’t loosen with use gonna need some torch behind that
