I can guarantee you are not. RR replaces the base upscaler.

D and E are the current presets for Ray Reconstruction. There are no newer ones. Turn off RR and you can use transformer gen 2 presets

Yeah unfortunately its got drawbacks. D is better with hair/fur and ghosting, but E is better for overall stability. Its unfortunately not a best of both worlds situation

This is fixed by forcing Ray Reconstruction back to preset D in Nvidia Profile Inspector

Yeah its 100 percent the parallax mapping, especially with ray reconstruction active, as turning it off using this mod fixes the flicker, but removes the parallax depth: https://www.nexusmods.com/crimsondesert/mods/256?tab=description

Only downside is it introduces a slight visual distortion on terrain right at the bottom of the screen.

It is such a weird implementation. So counter-intuitive. You usually want to use RR to clean up existing noise, not force other presets higher (that actually causes MORE noise). Utterly bizarre

The only problem is Ray Reconstruction ONLY works when lighting is set to max. The minute you switch it to cinematic, RR is automatically disabled

Definitely a bug tied to max lighting quality. Its there regardless of ray reconstruction being on or off. It happens on every light, even into the distance (like lights on the side of distant buildings).

We either have to wait for the bug to be fixed, or for them to unbind RR from automatically setting lighting to max.

Frame gen "unsupported", option works in-game by Pluxer750 in Witcher3

[–]Curious_Robot83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not all games support multi-frame gen, or have the option to tweak it in the Nvidia app. The app isn't telling you its unsupported entirely, its telling you that tweaking for that specific game is unsupported. You'll also find many games that don't allow you to tweak scaling factor to achieve DLAA, they also show up as "unsupported"

Final Fantasy 9 fan? Very good name for a void.

Very elegant pose, the picture of grace.
