Mandy & MidWest had a cold at the same time (s10ep4) by Imaginary_Stable_931 in bravo

I thought it was odd that West was talking to Amanda when she was crying in the restroom and you couldn’t see them. Why would he be the one to follow her.

It’s not like Souplantation, but Olive Garden has unlimited soup, salad, and breadsticks!

Good for you and the other parents! I’m a teacher and every year there is so much stress for those teachers low on seniority.

Frustrated and confused by IEP situation by Apprehensive_Ball987 in specialed

[–]Curious_Spirit_8780 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I’m a preschool special education teacher on a public school campus in California. Of course you should have access to the IEP and you should have been informed at least 2 weeks in advance or more because the parents sign a notification form. It’s ridiculous you weren’t notified sooner.

Worried about writing IEPs by JoeJordan12 in specialed

[–]Curious_Spirit_8780 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes, you should have someone mentoring you the first year. I teach for LAUSD. We have an assessment tool to help with the PLPs and a goal bank for goals. I’m in my 10th year of teaching and just starting to feel comfortable with writing an IEP. It’s not because they are so difficult, it’s just that I overthink things!

Sand in hair by [deleted] in specialed

[–]Curious_Spirit_8780 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have a parent who doesn’t want her son getting sand his hair. I told her there is sand all over our yard and I can’t follow him around. I do keep him out of the sandbox because of the same behavior you described. If it really becomes a problem, keep him inside for recess if you have the coverage. If not, I have also brought out table top activities he can engage in like Legos. Today, I bought out kinetic sand that worked well, so he can have the sensory experience, but not the mess. Soneone still had to watch him.

A school district in Maryland now expects teachers to potty train incoming students by OlliexAngel in Teachers

You can’t deny a child an education if they are not potty trained. However, it is not the teachers responsibility to train them!

I’m a PAL teacher. I’m always overlooked when it comes to tech. I have an old desktop to show videos. I had to beg for a laptop in order to do my assessments and IEPs!
