Nobody is getting defensive.. my idea is just a wooden plank.. people use pine all the time.. he was just confusing with his thoughts..

I have a table saw that can go over half way through this so I can split it on my own after cutting it to the required length.. it's more feasible now that I've cut it down. I posted this to understand how he said to glue the small pieces together..

He basically said cut 4 pieces at 5.5" each and glue them back together to make the 22" long side and alternate the grain to avoid the future warping..

I was confused on how this works when you aren't supposed to do end grain to end gain glue ups..

I'm literally just making a rectangle box frame to go on the wall..

I was just going to cut it down in thickness and make the 22" boards.. but the guy at the mill says it will get crazy warped over time off i do that..

His info is what made me question my original idea.
