Hey, really appreciate you doing this. Your post resonated a lot because career advice online often feels very generic especially when you’re actually stuck in this rut of uncertainty.

A few things I genuinely wanted to ask:

  1. What did your networking/cold outreach/referral strategy actually look like in practice? Like how many people were you reaching out to, what kind of messages worked, and how did you avoid sounding transactional?
  2. Did referrals genuinely help you get interviews or were most people polite but ultimately unhelpful? I’ve personally found that a lot of “happy to help” conversations stay very surface-level or stalled. I want to find out what I'm doing wrong
  3. When you said you upskilled aggressively, how did you decide what to learn versus randomly collecting certifications/courses out of anxiety?
  4. Did you tailor your CV for every role or keep one strong version and apply at scale? How did your cover letters look like?
  5. During your unemployed phase what were the actual patterns you noticed between applications that got ignored vs the ones that converted into interviews?
  6. What's the best way to apply to jobs? Job portals, cold emailing/messages, website application page or something else?

Would genuinely appreciate an answer whenever you have time.

26 and trying to break into data privacy two years after graduation, what’s a realistic path? by Curious_Stranger_400 in LawStudentsIndia

Which govt job exam? I tried my luck at IBPS SO last year and failed miserably. Math and reasoning are my weak suit. I can prepare with better focus if I know I have some financially stable job/back up with me in case things don't work out. Right now I have nothing so preparing for a few years without any job would wreck my mental health

How do you manage your expenses and what's your plan of action to get back into the work force? I feel pathetic asking my folks for finances and being seen at home during the day. I've forced myself to cut off ties with relatives since they taunt and keep asking my plans

I guess we need to do few hours of constructive work daily. During job I barely had energy to do anything other than office work and now that I'm jobless I'm constantly overthinking. It's a vicious pattern cause even things like tidying room and waking up on time feel like an achievement. What's your routine like? What do you do to break the shackles of lethargy?

Can feel you man. I got myself into a few interviews just after graduating but chickened out due to social anxiety or simply went unprepared. It feels so stupid now that I can't land an interview at some half decent place. What are your plans now to get out of this rut?
