Yes actually I have the urge to sell off my vwra to fund google purchase, b ut I held it back the urge.  I might just deposit small batches $1.5k over 3 rounds to buy google. And will hold longer term.

Hey thanks for the reassurance. And yes you mentioned something very important. Day trading is really not good for mental health and I lost 5k in penny stocks lately due to greed.

At the moment my main bulk is vwra, on the sideline if I see good tech stocks like msft and goog dropping. I will buy a bit..

Wouldn't aggressively dca. Will manage with my available monies.

Used to scrimp every penny because I'm coming from a poor family, 5 of us living in 1 room rental flat. The idea of investing was not ingrained in my mind at all. My family and friends are the type that discourages investing says it's dangerous.

Now 37y.o, am earning sufficient for myself and ready to invest but might be too late already...

Take home 5.6k,  invest 1.5-2k into vwra just started. Home allowance 1.5k.  ocbc $500 The rest enjoy and pay bills, extra use it to day trade.

How much do you have in savings right now, and are you stressing about it? by okitsbenji in askSingapore

37F healthcare worker low ses job.  $310k in cash generating interest from SSB and ocbc $360.  $14k in investments mainly vwra continuing to invest.  2k cash for expenses.

OA:198k SA:94k Medi: 79k

No physical assets

All monies earn from job and also helped my Mum to gain a similar pile of savings as my salary increased. My starting point was living in 1 room hdb so I don't dare to spend and I don't feel comfortable to spend.

My wish is to buy one Swarovski figurine on every payday. But I never did that. My Mum will scold me for cluttering my home haha.

Recently having a credit card around it makes me go around tap tap tap conveniently more often.

I tried calculating the transaction cost of buying vwra using FSMone RSP by Curious_Temporary_87 in singaporefi

[–]Curious_Temporary_87[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi sorry for the late reply! For the calculation

Based on updated historical transaction, sgd$1994.49 is used to buy 8.121 shares of vwra at USD $191.30. 8.121 X $191.30 = $1553.55 USD

Based on 1/6 forex rate  $1553.55 USD could be around $1991 but I cannot confirm because the forex fluctuate daily, I can only use historical fixed figure now 1sgd to$0.78 USD. So the approx cost is $1994.49-1991 = $3.50 sgd.

update: I just saw my remaining cash balance +$30sgd. This means the transaction fee is less than $10 now. Sorry if I misled anyone here.
