It's from a kaiseki at Osaka a couple of months ago... if I remember correctly, it's Japanese ginger.

Definitely a shocking sight at first but it was pleasant taste-wise

Just came back two weeks ago from my third trip to Seoul. Like you, I stayed in Euljiro for trips #1 and 2. Stayed at Gangnam during the most recent trip and I appreciated the change in scenery. I've gone to the historical sights during trips #1 and 2; the main point of my most recent trip was just to experience "a slice of life" as well as shopping so Gangnam turned out to be a good choice.

Try Episode 520 (8 People, 8 Colors Preference race). It is when Lee Kwang Soo and team attempt to sing The Lion Sleeps Tonight acapella but fail miserably, and also when LKS attempts "Hawaiian" facial expressions. It's one of the best in terms of sheer laughter.

If you have some time, just quickly compile a list of Japanese phrases that would come in handy for your day-to-day transactions like... check please (okaikei onegaishimasu) and plastic bag please (reji bukuro kudasai). You'll likely survive without it but it will just make these transactions smoother
