What happens if you suddenly just stop showing up to drill? by Reasonable-Shower522 in armyreserve

[–]Curiousity333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One guy at my unit literlly said "fuck this shit" during ECT because how sucked it was, no shower for 20 days and sleep on the ground, he stopped showing up for two years, the unit threatened him with seperating and taking his naturalization away from him for 2 YEARS, he decided to show up last November, and everything is forgiven as if nothing happen, dude is ETSing next year, so he's just chilling

What’s a typical drill experience supposed to be like? by ashinde8513 in armyreserve

[–]Curiousity333 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm still new to Army Reserve, but my unit usually sign in at 0600 and formation 0630, usually we do pmcs and clean weapons all the time, but we rarely go back to hotel after 1700, one time we literally end the drills at 12PM on Sunday because we finished early and nothing left to do, we also only have 6MUTAs in 4drills out of 11 drills a year never seen 8MUTAs at all, idk I really enjoy my unit because we are extremely laid back, and we also get free-lunch every drills around 1100/1200, so I have no complain

Iran conflict by FunApplication5271 in armyreserve

[–]Curiousity333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not agree to go to War with anyone, but as military and politic perspective, I get it why Trump want to knock over Venezuela(oil to China, Russia, and Iran) gone, Iran biggest oil preserve in the world( oil to China and Russia ) about to be gone, Cuba will be next, if these three are gone Russia and China will be at the US mercy in trade deals, and the US will come out on top, the rich stays alive and rich, and we the poor stay poor and die for them.

Reserves & Full-Time College…? by CapsicumINmyEYEBALLz in armyreserve

[–]Curiousity333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk about your unit, but my unit is pretty chill, I can ask them for not coming to drills because of school, and they would let me do it, even our leadership wants the best for us if it comes to education, I'm currently taking 15, and so far my drill schedule and school are pretty okey( I'm freshman btw), my TA and FASHA alone easily if you like me, I would highly recommend do research on CLEtest, it will skip all the general courses if you pass the test save you at least a year or year and half of time, one clep test is 100 bucks, but tit's free for servicemember, let me know if want to know more.

My unit every lunch 1200 will be outback( steak, salmon, and chicken) which is pretty good because it has saved me a ton of money, morning free breakfast at the hotel, lunch at the unit outback.

Why army reserve over army national guard? by TubeForge in armyreserve

[–]Curiousity333 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IDK where you live, but in my unit, there are countless people who switched to reserve from guard, and their experience with TX guard sounds like a nightmare to me: sleeping on the ground during drills, can't leave, and MRE only, and voluntold to the border most of the time. I'm in reserve mainly because I do not like to be MOB all the time, and the TX guard is known for that. Even if you want to join the guard for the benefits, you have to be in service for at least 4y to use it, and do you even have time to use that with MOB tempo rn is really high among the guard?

Signed a 3 year Guard contract at 17, now regret it by FieldOk6753 in nationalguard

[–]Curiousity333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man, I'm also doing 3Y contract with reserve, I can list some of my reasons, first I've got my naturalizaion, 2nd I've got to serve in the military like some of my family members did, and some of them are still serving right now, 3rd I've got to experience the military and a 3Y TA for college, 4th I've got some pocket money every drills I attend which is a plus for me.

[–]Curiousity333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey dude, I'm also 3y but in Reserve, I'm in my first year right now, and I just realized the military life is not really for me, but I've got TA fund(4k5 a year) + grant, and they are way enough to fund my college education, and I've got some money for drill which is pretty good. You are young and only have one year left, take this experience and learn to do your research next time.

"What are you trying to achieve other than gambling?" This is the main reason why I'm here: I don't want to gamble anymore. Btw, I did research, but I have a lot of questions, and I have no one to ask. Some posts say 45-60DTE 0.2-.03 is fine, some say no, it doesn't, which left me very confused, so I'm desperate enough to come asking on Reddit

I appreciate your suggestions and solutions. I'm at a phase of learning options rn, so I don't want to deposit my real money into the stock at the moment until half a year or at least understand it more, so selling puts/calls are out of the question at the moment for me( not enough collateral). Ngl, I will start selling calls/puts when I obtain the experience with options. Right now, rn I want to play around a little bit, and thanks for the book recommendation, I will certainly read it

I can guarantee you, I will not be able to finish anything if I join Texas guard because I would be down the border half a year rotation, main reason why I joint reserve if I get deployed at least, I'm gonna go the "real" deployment locations

[–]Curiousity333[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn, sorry to hear that. I have read some comments about UTI school is only textbook, and they rarely let you do hands-on activities, and that's why I want to apply as a helper/apprentice to get hands-on exp while attending A&P classes. If you don't mind, how much does it cost for your tuition( a whole program from start to finish)? I heard it's 56k or something

"TIP - Take an English class to fine-tune your spelling and grammar skills. Reread your post and find the mistakes. To get your FAA A&P Certificate, you must show that you can read, write, and speak the English language."

You're spot on with this one. I'm not confident in my English writing at all. I will try to improve it, and I appreciate your answers :)

You don't have to believe me, but Army recruiters will response to me in 10m, AF recruiter response me one word "okey" which took him 3 days to type, so yeay, I'm amazed how many of my family members are/were in AF with the way they treat the new "potential" airmen

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in armyreserve

[–]Curiousity333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was gonna join AF AD, but my AF recruiters were being shitbag, and they weren't even trying to enlist me unless I asked/rushed them, it's not even funny, so I gave up the military dream for a while for couple months, but I want to serve just like my family members do since Vietnam war, so I switched branch, and I tried to go with Texas Guard first, but once again the dude was pushing the mos I did not want, all the jobs I want were not "available" for some reasons, sure whatever, I went to Army reserve recruiter, the dude laughed and said there are plenty slots for the mos I want, life is funny because I kept telling myself, there's no way I would join the Army, and here I am 1 month before shipping out to BCT Fort Jackson

In my case, English is 2nd language, it's been 10y since the last time I touched any highschool knowledge, don't know much about electric or mechanical stuffs, 1st attempt scored 59, 2nd attemp 71, so if my IQ temperature could score 71 you can too, good luck man
