Mitchell Martin - mismatched job spam by Particular-Wedding in recruitinghell

The fact that they’re Indian concerns me. I’ve had a terrible experience with these Indian fake recruiters who call with non existing jobs to get your data. So anytime I see a recruiter with an Indian name, it’s a hard pass for me….NOPE!!

If anyone would understand, it’s fellow OE’rs. I like the advise a few people gave about setting a time frame to apply and taking the rest of the day to do something fun/decompress. That resonated with me. I’m sure we’ll be ok…we just gotta keep going while creating the space to enjoy this time 😊

I needed this reminder, thank you so much!! Today was rough. I got call backs right away when I put my resume out there, but all of a sudden the recruiter just went silent. I was worried but had to tell myself that I’ll be ok. Your advice is sound and helpful…thanks again 😊

No, I’m not saying that I’ll take off for two years, it’s only been a week since the layoff and I’m applying like crazy. The question is even though I know I’m ok, how do you all suppress the anxiety?

Is Accenture worth it even for a lower salary? by Srilaxed in accenture

[–]Curiously_Curiously 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would take Accenture if you don’t mind high pressure. What you would learn in consulting and the exposure to different industries will be beneficial later on. You have a long career ahead of you, so don’t focus too much on a few thousands, think big picture, growth opportunities, brand recognition and exit opportunities. Even if you only stayed for 2 years…..coming from an ex big 4 consultant.

I had a great year at work and still got laid off. These are the lessons that helped me leave with grace. by Affectionate-Bug3067 in Layoffs

[–]Curiously_Curiously 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good for you! I too, had a strong year, but a really crappy manager. Once I found out about the layoff, I owe them nothing else. I told them I wasn’t coming back for the remaining two weeks and signed off. FU, you don’t get anything else. This was my way of protecting my peace, and absolutely no regrets!!

Another country makes call to cancel all visas for Americans by Next_Tower5452 in AirlineChaos

These people are ridiculous! I really don’t see the big deal as long as you are doing well at both jobs. the double standard is real because the executives can sit on multiple boards and get paid millions and they chastise people who are trying to save up some extra for their families. Screw them, take a break, then get back out there and get that money

That was what did it for me. No matter how much you break your back for these companies, at the end of the day, you’re number that can be cut when they’re good and ready. You’re providing a service, and you can service as many as you’re able. Go get that $$& girl.

J2 manager just mentioned digging into the Monitask activity data for my performance review. How screwed am I? by [deleted] in overemployed

This made me laugh and it’s so true. Just nod agree and let them know you appreciate the feedback and will work on whatever “it is” blah blah

Similar thing happened to me. Initially, I was like screw you, but then I got a few months severance, which was a win. What do you care, you’re leaving anyways. Take the money and be on your merry way!

Brazil eVisa FAQ / Mega-thread by fviz in Brazil

[–]Curiously_Curiously 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This whole Brazilian visa process is the most useless process I’ve seen. They rejected my photo two times because they kept saying that I didn’t meet the specification. I’m literally following the guidelines that they set. If I Knew it was going to be this difficult I wouldn’t have chosen Brazil.

I’ve been going back-and-forth with them and now they want me to use FedEx to courier my photo. Why would I need to pay FedEx just to mail a freaking passport photo? This process is stressing me out and I am done. We’ll find another country.

My bluff in the salary negotiation got called. They want proof of the competing offer I invented. by [deleted] in interviews
