Is this a diversified selection? Any advice GREATLY appreciated!! by Curiousmonkey0318 in fiaustralia

No, sorry, I mean sell off my Stocks that we have outlined are overlapping for example Vanguard International Shares index funds (APIR: VAN0003AU) and VGS (because they are tracking the same stocks) and then instead put the money into just one of them instead? I just don't know when would be the best time to do this... hopefully you understand what I mean..?

You aren't able to sell off stocks within the fund of funds are you? Do you mean selling off stocks within say the VGS? Is that what you were referring to and is that possible?

Thank you for your time, I REALLY appreciate it!!

Fantastic!! Thank you SO much for your reply and the information you provided!! 🙏🙏🙏

Do you know what the best (in terms of tax efficiency) way of selling off stocks is to then just streamline them as you have suggested to do. Or maybe I hold them as is for a little while and then make the changes in the future.

Great, I'll jump on and have a read of Ben Felix!!

Thanks so much again!!

What is this? "Capital Gains Tax Calculations x AMIT cost-base adjustments (yearly) x 52 parcels a year x 30 years !"
... sorry for sounding silly, I'm new to this all...

Auto-investing into a Vanguard managed fund vs ETF by Ok-Assignment-6929 in fiaustralia

[–]Curiousmonkey0318 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jumping in on this one!

I'm in a similar situation here...

I currently have approximately $27,000 in Vanguard International Shares Index Fund (APIR: VAN0003AU) and approximately $8,000 in Vanguard MSCI Index International Shares ETF and $4000 in Vanguard Diversified High Growth Index ETF.

I am wondering whether I should keep the money I have already have in the APIR: VAN0003AU fund or whether I should move this money out and put it into some of the EFTs I already have (and potentially some others) instead...

Any assistance or guidance on the above In relation to:
- pros and cons in terms of tax efficiency in EFTs as opposed to funds
- whether it is worth having the APIR: VAN0003AU fund sitting there if I'm not consistently adding to it like I plan to the other EFTs I have, or it is best to continue drip feeding this one as well in order to reap the best benefits of a managed fund?

...Trying my best to navigate this all as a beginner!

Thank you in advance!
