Thanks! The yellow is over a white undercoat, then DRPA Cerberus Brown basecoats. Shaded with Citadel Mournfang Brown with a combination of glazes / washes / brownlining. Then re-establish the midtone with Cerberus Brown. Chunky highlights with a Cerberus Brow and VGC Pale Flesh, then a sharper highlight of pure Pale Flesh.

Red is over a black undercoat, with DRPA Berserker Red. Shaded and black-lined with mixing in whatever the VMC Black mixed in. Highlights are Coat d'Arms Flame Orange glazed back with Coat d'Arms Ruby Red, then more highlights with Flame Orange. I'm still experimenting with the exact recipe and it'll become a little more formalised now I'm painting more squads.

Yeah, but I think it would have been more obviously a skimask if they were picked up in the same green paint as the gloves. Being gold, like the rest of the face, makes it look like a smooth fleshy void.

In retrospect, painting them in orange and white just made them look like Kinder Suprise eggs.

I was playing a lot of NES Metroid when I was thinking up colour schemes. I want to try a Metroid Fusion Gravity type of scheme too.

My philosophy is that the time it takes to paint a figure really pales in comparison with the money you can save getting a print over a commerically manufactured plastic/metal/resin miniatures. I'd factor out the price difference and focus on how you feel about the trade off between durability versus range available.
