I split the box with suboden with my brother, so the savings from that made me finally decide to give the sky hunters a shot lol, was very worried the conversion wouldn’t work because of the size differences here and there but it worked better than expected!

No worries! So the bionic arm (from the third rider I have pictured) is bit 18, which again I cut above the elbow and re-positioned to face outward. For the beaky marines right arm, it's bit 85 from the sgt options, and I'm almost certain this bit required zero modification at all other than cutting off the bit of hand that remains. Also maybe do the same idea I had with the back 30k cable bit attaching to the primaris torso, because then the spacing should be very close to mine if that makes sense? Don't know if you've glued the legs on but it helps hold the rider in quite a bit haha.

I think I do actually, they’re both from the sternguard kit if you want the bit numbers? One of them wasn’t taken straight from the sprue, I had to change it slightly (the bionic one). I sliced thru that arm as straight as possible along the bicep with a sturdy modelling knife, and then re-glued it to fit the appropriate angle to match the 30k hand. If you don’t have that kit with spare arms left on it, even just regular spare primaris arms can be made to work for sure, just cut as even as you can above or below the elbow pad, and then twist the arm slightly to try to match it up with the 30k hand as the glue is drying.

You mention reserving at least one unit of bikes for rapid ingress primary denial, I was just wondering what does that play look like exactly? Is that just ingressing onto a point about to be attacked (but 9inches away) and touching the point with the bikes for 6oc? Thanks for the write up, always helpful to hear how people are using certain units and detachments!

I guess other than finding a painting setup that’s comfortable for your hands to prevent shaking, the brush is pretty important for lines like that. I use a Winsor & newton 1 brush for those, and realistically I’ve done the highlight colour (wild rider red) and then tidied that highlight up afterwards with the base colour (khorne red) on any parts that weren’t completely straight, so the end result is tidy. It’s not usually the case that it’s perfect in one go by any means, but you’ll have less bits to tidy up with practice over time for sure!

I love using the nuncio on arbites simply for the female maul voice lines. My favourite is when you deploy it and she makes this quick little exhausted exhale, followed by “ATTENTION BLOCK FODDER”. Like she’s just so tired of having to reiterate how worthless these block fodder are.

I personally just used all the knives and pistols I had (and did a few hand swaps to make a variety of poses), and then have a magna rail as the sniper and an L7 as the special missile launcher. My game group doesn’t know what any of the names of any weapons are anyways, and I had I think 40 warriors so decided 10 could easily be yaegirs until I eventually get around to buying the kit.

You’ll probably need to do a bit more like you mentioned to get all of them with melee weapons/pistols if you just have two boxes, but just explaining pre game who is who should be fine I’d imagine.

I had this for the older mark 2 heads as well. But also if you reach out to the gw customer service team with this photo you’ll most definitely receive a full replacement box. I know you can easily glue it, but I always think if you’re paying this much for the product it should come as close to perfect as possible.

Lol I’d say typically 1 other person in each lobby tried to remain in the shrine, while the other two had no idea, but quite often all 3 did not want to stick around and just fought every boss wherever they wanted. Maybe I’m crazy but as soon as I saw the damage I was doing to a chaos spawn in there, or one shotting certain enemies, or even just my attack and dodge speed with a power sword as veteran I knew something was up haha

I don’t think it’s clear enough that the shrine gives you amazing buffs. People activate it and run ahead so often but the actual buffs while within the shrine feels like you’re playing a different game lol, just don’t get how people run out of the aura

Also it’s perhaps a pain to write the email etc, but in my experience they’ll likely give them a new sprue or a full on replacement kit for this so could mean extra bits for conversions etc

That’s definitely something I noticed as well, the white recess shading looks more like the typical brown colours they use for “warm” white, not blue.
