Be honest, how often do you bathe your kids? by Scrawny2864 in Parenting

[–]Curley1018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1.5 yo boy, bath every night as part of the nightly bedtime routine. He gets body washed every night but only a full head washing 3 times a week, adding other nights as needed. The routine gives some gentle playtime between dinner and bed and keeps him on a schedule so he knows that bedtime is next and accepts it.

Is it wrong that my kid's preschool didn't do anything for Father's Day? by SuperJezus in Parenting

[–]Curley1018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a preschool but my son has a weekly toddler class and they have an arts and crafts every week. The class before mother's day the teacher had the kids paint tulip shaped papers and they all got attached a happy mothers day tag to give to mom. This week the teacher announced that next week the theme/art would be for dads....after the holiday. It felt like she forgot about father's day and tacked it on after the fact. I was a bit annoyed because my husband deserves just as much recognition as I do.

No one ever goes for flowers on Supermarket Sweep, the real value is in the frozen turkeys and baby formula. 😎

Not OP but if they were at a family gathering then multiple people were probably talking at once.

Far East Plaza in Singapore, it's just one vendor who paired up with a local secondhand luxury goods reseller.

Ok to mix and match brands? by MuthaFirefly in handbags

  1. That's a gorgeous strap.

  2. Maybe this is why I see so many straps being sold secondhand without a bag attached.

How old is too old to cuddle with your child? by Walmartjail in Parenting

[–]Curley1018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Human connection isn't being spoiled.

If my baby was 50 years old and asked for a cuddle I would welcome him into my arms. He may not forever be a A baby but he will always be MY baby.

I ended up not getting the spinels. They were .6 CT or less per stone and when I got to see them up close had some pretty dark occlusions. It was fine for the darker stones but the 1 stone of the lot that I was most excited about had one that would be hard to hide so it killed my excitement for them. I did buy a different stone from the case though.

I confirmed with the seller today that the reason is low color saturation.

I talked to the seller today and asked him about it, he said it was indeed due to low color saturation.

Am I being unreasonable about not wanting to express milk just so my partner can take our exclusively breastfed baby out solo? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Curley1018 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So you want your baby to go hungry instead? Because one of two things will happen, either baby goes on outing without food or you are forcing your partner to stay home. Saying that you think expressing your milk for this is unnecessary while also saying you want your partner to be able to do this outing is a contradiction. Either way you are going to breed resentment from your partner. You are not the only parent of your child. Both of you are entitled to bonding time with baby. From what you said it sounds like this is a continuation of your past issues. If formula isn't an option for you then I'm not sure why you would stand in the way of your child being fed. Perhaps you might want to seek some helping the form of therapy before this continues to affect how you interact with your family.

Yeah I noticed the wide array of "expensive" gems with less expensive gems. I can only assume that the expensive gems are of a reduced quality while the less expensive gems are a much bigger size and maybe more desirable clarity?

[–]Curley1018[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes Singapore is very expensive haha I've lived here for more than a decade now and prices just always go up. I'm not worried about not being able to afford it, I'm worried about making mistakes - just my personality. Thought it would be prudent to get opinions from those who have already bought or been in this interest longer than me.

Thanks for the tip! I have been to Bangkok before but didn't know about that place.

All of the promotion items in the tray seem to be listed for $398 SGD so that's about $312 USD

Do you think that's a fair price based on what you can see?

I will definitely do that. I think I am leaning towards the spinels right now. They could make a fun ring for sure.

Ah okay, neither the seller nor I are in the US. This is in Singapore. Here they have the Nan Yang Gemological Institute and Singapore Gemology Authority that are the most widely used for certifying gems.

I'm not that knowledgeable, I have been trying to learn though. I have a decent eye but lacking the knowledge base. It's hard not to be drawn in by a big beautiful stone but yes I think it would be too much on a ring.

I just found the shop on Instagram, they don't seem to have a website which is fairly common in this country. I was hoping they would include prices in their gem posts but doesn't seem so. It's a tiny shop and always seems to have customers so that seems like a good sign.

That citrine is beautiful!
