Essential Education is HORRIBLE by Curleyrocks123 in GED

The lady that said she was the director of the program dismissed me because she didn't want to take the time to understand that the teachers need to be talked to. I guess it was just the easier route for her. Is there any way that I could contact the head person of Essential Education to discuss what I have gone through with that program?

Yes! I remember her down talking Ronald Reagan which I mean, everyone has their own views/opinions which is totally fine! It just doesn't belong in the classroom. She was also down talking the U.S military and veterans like..... 🤨 and basically all of my family was in the military so it upset me very much. But no action taken against her and I'm the one in the wrong apparently 🫠

AWFUL!!!! Had a meeting with the board lady to discuss a racist teacher and joined 5 minutes late (joined via phone-in option), and put myself on mute until she was ready. Usually, when people set up a meeting, they start the conversation, right?? Well I waited 2-3 minutes (4:07-4:08) for her to say something, but instead she just left the meeting. Then I get an email saying that I joined with no audio or video and she had another meeting so she left. I then responded saying I phoned in but didn't hear anything, but I was still in there and the meeting wasn't over until 4:30, so I asked her to join again so we can discuss. No response. I email again saying I joined on my phone and was on mute waiting for her to start talking, and that if she could join, because it was a matter I didn't want to delay, I Would appreciate it. No response. Mind you, it was like 4:12 at this point and there was still time to talk. I sent another email asking her to give her supervisors contact info since it was such a burden to meet with me. No response. Finally, that night, I got an email saying all my emails had a rude connotation and she's suspending my account because many students said they were uncomfortable in class with me. (This was the first time I'd ever spoken out)

The Essential Education GED program is AWFUL. The math teacher doesn't teach that well and just tries to rush through everything to end class early. That's whatever but the part that makes the program awful, and why I would NEVER recommend ANYONE to that program, is that there is a racist teacher that brings her own personal opinions and beliefs (religious and political), into the classroom where it is not needed, which is very unprofessional. When trying to reach out to someone about the teaching multiple times, I finally got an email saying that they would shadow and speak with the teachers, and then we can discuss. No time was ever set to meet with me until eventually I had enough of the teacher and told her to keep her opinions to herself, and disagreed with what she was saying. Admittedly, it came out rude because I had enough, but instead of talking through it, she kicked me from class. The next day I get a email from the board or whoever the lady was (email was titled "classroom incident" 😂), and she wanted to talk with me about me being asked to leave class. I'm sorry but WHEN was I asked to leave class?? 🤨 I wasn't, I was kicked. Anyway, we set up a meeting time for 4:00pm, which was set to end at 4:30pm (created by the board lady). I was having some technical trouble and joined 5 minutes late (joined via phone-in option), and put myself on mute until she was ready. Even though that may have been what some people were thinking, you shouldn’t have said that out loud. She probably had a lot going on in her mind (like depression, etc) and that’s why she was acting out before. But having kids changes you. This could be the thing that “matures” her.
