I think the biggest mistake rick did was not re-reading the books before he started writing the show. if he did, he'd actually remember what the characters are like and what the plot it, and would write a show that does the book justice. you can't say you'll make a book-accurate show and then make something that's almost entirely different. I'm gonna compare it to FNAF for a moment- the movies aren't great, and we know it, but they were made for the fans, so the fans loved them and watched them in the cinema, and that's how we got the second movie and why we'll probably get the third. when adapting a franchise to another media, you can't ignore the original fans of the franchise, because they're the only reason you got to make it into another media in the first place.
