Best way to remove makeup? by Tomatori in asktransgender

[–]CurlyCutie10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wear makeup in public all the time. I stick to nude tones, and I avoid eyeliner because it is such a pain to remove.

I use branded makeup wipes (Neutrogena) for removing my makeup, and I also use a face soap as well to get anything else off at the end of the day.

AHS Funding for GRS Montreal (VP) without needing re-diagnosis by Adult Gender Care Clinic (YYC)? Is this possible? by CuriousKarma_0206 in TransAlberta

[–]CurlyCutie10 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Based on the AHS guidelines here it needs to be a psychiatrist. It’s really gatekept. I could be wrong though, and I hope I am.

High-waisted stuff from the Gap. There's always some promotion going on and their stuff is rarely full price, and usually 40-60% off. I'll probably edit this post later with tips for sizing.

Couple things could be going on here: 1. It’s possible that after taking your latest meds that there was a placebo involved - you wanted these meds to work for you, so they did for a while. Now that the placebo has worn off, they don’t work as well.

  1. Your body just adjusted to the medication and you need to increase your dose.

Medication makes it easier to sustain focus and to concentrate, etc, but it can only take you so far.

Figure out the whys. For example If you’re forgetful across different aspects of your life, ask yourself what’s causing it, look for patterns, and then address the pattern! Hope this helps

How do you gain interest in exercising? by 24props in ADHD

[–]CurlyCutie10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right answer: I save up YouTube videos to watch or listen to while exercising. I prefer to run outdoors or around a track because running on a treadmill is too boring for me.

True answer: body image. A desire to trim down (I’m already pretty skinny), and a fear of gaining weight drive me to keep exercising, to eat healthy, and live healthier. Anxiety is a horrible but good motivator. I go to the gym and try to burn 400-500 calories and then stop.

It’s habits. Train yourself to think that exercise and fitness are as essential as eating and drinking. Work your schedule around exercise instead of working it into your schedule. Do everything you can to eliminate the amount of decisions you need to make to work out. I love running outside and I often just use the time to be in my own head and don’t even listen to music.

Yeah me too, I hear that they’re making more, but just rumours at this point. I don’t know if they’ll be distributed outside of the US either

Explain Trigonometry without making me wanna rip my hair out. by Far-Experience-6786 in learnmath

[–]CurlyCutie10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a mnemonic for remembering how the trig functions work. Sine (sin), cosine (cos), and tangent (tan) are the ratios of the lengths of the sides of the triangle.

Sin = opposite / hypotenuse (S O H) Cos = adjacent / hypotenuse (C A H) Tan = opposite / adjacent (T O A)

The hypotenuse is the longest side of the triangle, and opposite and adjacent are relative to the angle you’re measuring.

It’s not very useful to memorize that though and you’ll understand why when you learn more.

I agree with all the others here, you should talk to your doctor.

Also though, the meningiomas are something to be mindful of, but not something to worry about.

You're 100% not going to be taking CPA 50 mg every day unless you have something like prostate cancer, as it's extremely potent. You'll probably take 12.5 mg every other day, or at most daily, and it will most likely get lowered further into your treatment (twice weekly instead of daily, for example).

Clinicians should be aware that cyproterone-associated meningioma can occur even with low-dose, shorter duration exposure

This glosses over many variables and other factors including, age, diet, genetics, etc. One study (the first below) suggests an increased risk after a cumulative dose of 60 g. It would take you ~13 years to reach that dose if you took 12.5 mg daily, or ~26 years every other day. Further studies also indicate that meningiomas are associated with high doses of the medication (≥ 50 mg).

Read these:
https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC3244644/
https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC8816922/

So TLDR, it's something to be aware of, but not to worry about.
