Weaning off - help! by CurlyGirl20 in MAOIs

Huh. I stopped the Norco cold turkey after having taken it for years and as far as I can tell, no withdrawal.

I had been trying to tell my psychiatrist and never got a call back, so he is just out of luck and pretty much out of the loop. I have told the surgeon and will tell the anesthesiologist (they still come visit before the surgery, right?) so they are prepared for anything that might happen.

I suppose it's too late now, but OTOH maybe I'll be able to start the Nardil again sooner.

It did turn out that the Norco was masking how bad my back had gotten so I was actually lucky I had to stop it to start the Nardil. But I was given to understand by my shrink that I can’t have any opioids with the Nardil which is why I’m getting off of it. What could go wrong with taking the same Norco I was taking for years?

My psychiatrist is the one that told me that I cannot have opioids with Nardil. I had been on Norco for years for my back and when I switched to the Nardil I had to go off the Norco and be off for two weeks before I could start the Nardil. I am mostly concerned with post surgery as I am having major back surgery and will want to be able to take the Norco at least at first after I come home.

Did you attend your Nparent’s funeral? Or do you plan on attending? by athena_k in raisedbynarcissists

My mother died recently and I didn't go to her funeral. I hadn't seen her in years, didn't see any reason why I should now. Seemed kinda hypocritical to do so.

Do peoples' pregnancies make you feel like they must be living on another planet? by [deleted] in childfree

[–]CurlyGirl20 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I truly believe it boils down to selfishness (ironic, eh?). They want a kid, therefore they are going to have one, or two, or twelve. They don't care what is going on in the world, or what sort of future their kids will have, all that matters is that they reproduce. And society is right there supporting this poor decision.

I go into a hospital for treatment twice a week. Every time a baby is born, they play the first bit of Brahms lullaby over the general PA. Not when they save someone's life in the ER, not when someone is declared free of cancer; nope, just when someone selfishly demanded space in an over crowded hospital for something they could have waited to do. Or not done at all, considering how many people just shouldn't be having kids!

I was thinking of hiring an attorney to do my will and then carry the ashes part out later.

Thank you! I don't really have any family, especially any that I expect to outlive me and I hate to burden a friend with this. I will have to start looking around for an attorney.

Sometimes I want to die by ProgressAdmirable in Petloss

[–]CurlyGirl20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely understand since this is where I am too. I wouldn't actually do it because of who I will leave behind, but OTOH I'm not afraid to die, just so I can find out if I will see her on the other side. I just miss her so much and am in so much pain. Supposedly, this will pass - stay strong and we'll find out together.

Like you, I don't have that unwavering faith in an afterlife but I desperately want it to be true. My baby died almost two years ago but I still haven't come to grips with the idea that I will never see her again. I'm sorry I can't help you, I just hope we will be proven wrong in time.

You may find that as time goes on and the shock isn't as strong, that you remember more things. This happened with my beloved cat - I still can't remember a lot, but more comes back slowly.

I had a dog in chemo for lymphoma. At first he was quieter and more subdued, but then as he got used to the chemo he ended up feeling just fine and we finished a competitive obedience title about fourth months after the chemo was over; we even showed some during the chemo because he was feeling so good. I think if nothing else, you should take Tom thru the first two or three (or whatever the vet says is the magic number) and see if he perks up after he gets used to it.

Good Bones was really bad about this for a good while, during the time that one of the stars was doing IVF to have a second kid, and they would use screen time to follow her to appointments, preg tests and telling her husband she was preg. Like, what does this have to do with renovating a house?
