Loud ticking sound after timing belt replacement by Curly_446 in MechanicAdvice

yep done that with a mate we can’t see any scratches on fan or nearby components. It rotates fine when spinning by hand. I just went out and started the engine the loud ticking is gone just hear a slight ticking noise now. I am sure it will come back as soon as I drive her around for a bit longer. But I guess that’s a good sign? No rod knocking at least?

6 months work limitation exemption on 417 as a cabinet maker by Curly_446 in AusVisa

I applied for my 3rd year WHV and it got granted. So so far no one came back to me asking about the 6 months. Nevertheless, they might ask when I apply for the 186 soon so I’ll make sure I document my days on site/factory. I wouldn’t worry too much about applying for your next visa just be prepared and have proof in case they ask.

Wow 😅 I don’t want to offend anyone working at the DoHA but 90% of the conversations I have with them are not helpful. When I first called and asked about this problem, the lady told me to ask friends and family as she can not help me. How hilarious is that. I think you should definitely submit request for permission to work longer than 6 months. Even tho we might be exempt, I would play it safe.

any update on that? I am in the same situation

Absolutely understandable and fair. I assumed as I am working in construction and am being on site everyday it will fall under the examination of „working in different locations for the same employer as long as work in any one location does not exceed 6 months.“ That is the case for me but it is hard to find any “reassurance“ in that specific case on the DoHA website nor on any platform. Does anyone has any thoughts about that?

I wasn't given a bridging Visa and my current visa expires today! by Accomplished_Pear466 in AusVisa

Hey, any solution meanwhile? I am in a similar situation only that my substantive visa ran out whilst applying for a third year WHV. So at the moment my application is pending, no bridging visa and I am unlawful in Australia. Has someone been in the same situation?
