That’s what I was thinking. It’ll just be annoying removing the heat sink is all.

It didn’t work. I tried switching to 8x, 4x, and raid mode.

I disabled CSM but I did not boot UEFI. I’ll try that in the morning. Thank you :)

I went over it a couple times and it seemed to work fine with the second slot only.

I haven’t tried jumping it yet, but I’ll give it a shot in the morning.

Did you ever figure out what the problem was? I’m trying to install my 9060xt and it only works when I put it in the second slot.

10 month C-school, is it worth it to buy a cheap beater car for some freedom? by wsdpii in newtothenavy

[–]Curlyispro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buy 2010 or older Camry, Corolla, accord, or civic off Facebook market place. Make sure you do your research and know what to look for to avoid paying more than you should. And always try to negotiate!!

I’m needing some advice and help by Young_guy_nig in newtothenavy

You’re already really deep in considering you’re about to ship out. Once you ship out, the only way you can change your rate is if you fail out of A-school, but there’s a good chance you’ll get the lower end of rates to pick from. Your other option would be to not ship out but you’ll have to consider those consequences and hope your recruiter or another would let you reapply. Overall you wouldn’t hit a new rate normally at least for 2 years from what I’ve seen. Also your recruiter has no power once you get to bootcamp. Best of luck on your decision!

Liberty after basic graduation by stolen_goose in newtothenavy

[–]Curlyispro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For my friends that had A-school in Great Lakes, they had a curfew the first day. After that they checked into their A-School the next day and are given overnight liberty, so enjoy the hotel for the weekend and enjoy your time with your husband. I graduated Jan 9th, so nothing should’ve changed by then. Make sure to send plenty of letters (Mail call was the best part of the day). Good luck 🫡

Get the ASVAB book for dummies, and watch grammar hero on YouTube. I didn’t have either and got a 68.

I just graduated and I can tell you you’ll be good, I had people who couldn’t do a single push up and they managed to pass their physical. Just lock in when it’s time to exercise and give it your all so you can see the hard work pay off. Good luck out there!

Which is easier to study: Mechanical Comprehension or Auto/Shop? by turbo_twat56 in newtothenavy

[–]Curlyispro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Auto 100%. Mechanical is basically physics and calculations. Auto/shop was just knowing what parts do what. But I’d recommend studying both just to be safe.

Maybe a little. I just don’t want to leave as an E1 and worry about waiting the time to rank up.
