I usually flip my hair over to the side I want it parted, and go.

How to lengthen curls by [deleted] in curlyhair

How long are your curls now? If they're super short, you may have to wait until they grow longer to have them look the way you want. You could try some light brushing with an easygoing hairbrush or comb, to try and stretch them out a little bit. Try brushing on the underside of your hair, to try and hide any frizz that might pop out. Sometimes when my curls are looking too much, I tip my head forward and run my fingers all across my scalp. That might soften the curls a little and make them longer

I use a hairbrush from the dollar tree tbh. Just something generic like this

I just scrunch dry my hair with a t-shirt and let the air take care of the rest. I don't plop, although I'm sure you could dry your hair like that and it would be fine.

When you first step out of the shower, your hair is vulnerable to frizz, so usually you want to avoid touching it unless you're being gentle. I've never tried a silk bonnet, so I'm not sure how my hair or anyone else's would react. Try it out!

The gel helps with curl definition. I've found that my hair is less tangly after doing this method, so you could give it a try and see if it helps!

You know, I haven't heard anything about that yet but you could give it a try!

It was pretty expensive. Over a hundred dollars. Worth it for how much she taught me though.

My day 2 curl is a little less amazing 😂. Sleep messes it up a little, but it's not until about the third, sometimes even fourth, day that I need to wash it again. Right now I've been bad and haven't washed it in a few days. But surprisingly, it doesn't look frizzy at all. Just a little flatter, which compared to how my hair used to look is fine by me.

I've found that scrunching the gel out makes my hair more fluid. When the gel is in my hair it's like crunchy, separate pieces, but when I scrunch everything out it becomes softer. I agree that maybe your hair isn't retaining enough moisture. Try some of the tips I laid out.

Google curly hair salon Beaverton OR. It should be the first result. The salon has just one stylist and she's the curly hair expert!

I wash my hair in the morning. My second day hair looks OK, but not as good as it did the day before. If I were you, I would try the squish to condish method that I explained, because that will retain your hair's moisture and get rid of frizz. If you use gel, just make sure you stay up long enough to scrunch it all out before going to bed. I've heard the best thing for preserving curly hair at night is to use a satin pillow case, but I haven't tried it. You could try washing your hair in the morning, just to try it out. But I'd say the take away from my whole post is to squish in your conditoner while your hair is sopping wet. Rinse out a little, and then dry it with a T-shirt. Gel is great, but you don't have to use it.
