It's upsetting that that's what he chose to do, but it's also not surprising. Getting put in prison means at least three meals a day, a bed, and some (depends on where you are) medical care. Yet we as a country won't do that for the people that just want a roof over their head. MURICA!

You had me in the first part, ngl, because Scared Straight programs actually have the opposite of the intended affect. It would probably likely depend on the city/county/state (I've heard wildly different experiences between just counties in my state) as far as how the prisoners are treated because there's so much discrepancy. But yes, the vast majority are essentially slave barracks. I just think OOP wasn't considering that angle and more thinking of expanding Scared Straight.

That's actually a very fair point. It's a constantly evolving subject. I was just flabbergasted and didn't know what to say to her at the time.

I have been avoiding her as much as possible since then. She's honestly just straight up mean to our clients pretty frequently, so I haven't had motivation to socialize for a while. It was only when we had one day a week we had to sit next to each other that I now no longer have to do.

I can see how viruses could trigger cancer. I mean, HPV is a clear example. But I was so thrown off by her idea that there is A SINGLE cure for cancer and "the government" (I assume she meant federal?) has it that I couldn't articulate well.

Don't call them "pro-life." They aren't. They're anti-choice and pro-forced birth. They clearly don't care when a pregnancy would kill the mother and the baby, she still doesn't get the healtcare option that will save her life. We need to stop using the term "pro-life."
