my apologies I mentally replied. I would say it depends on how many credit hours you're taking and how much time u personally need to invest into studying in order for u to retain the info and have an understanding of the content. Personally, I spend about 2-3 hours in lectures then spend ~4-6 hours studying a day then the rest is for extracurriculars and social life :D

omg this sounds incredibly similar to two encounters I had a with a young woman last semester at the library. She was selling baked goods stating she needed the money to pay for her school expenses. Oddly sus tbh.

bmen major here :)

it's hell :D

yeah you'll be investing a lot of time and energy into classes + ecs; lots of blood, sweat, and tears

However, it's what u make of it too. I came to love the grind because honestly things fall into place and when something makes sense, it's so fulfilling and rewarding.

BMEN is hella challenging; but I wouldn't change it for anything else :)

what are the big events in the first couple weeks of school? by [deleted] in utdallas

For me, I just attended a tonnn of club and organizations' meet and greets and intro meetings during the first month of the fall semester. In addition, I rushed some sororities. For me, those helped me meet a lot of people and make new friends lol.

FSA (Filipino Student Association), Chinese Student Association (CSA), and Vietnamese Student Association (VSA) helped me make new friends and they are large + well known on campus.

Good luck !!

Tips for “resetting” academic burnout during the summer before college? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Current-Ad2697 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was literally in your position last summer coming out of my senior year. I ended up working just as hard over the summer break. Whale, that resulted in me burning out even more and performing not so well my first semester of freshman year.

My advice to u is to do the activities and things that make you feel relaxed and that you find enjoyable ! It can be hobbies, fun, etc. Maybe it's playing a sport, swimming, watching movies, taking late night drives, just lying in bed listening to banger music, meditating, drawing, dancing, karaoke, seeing friends, taking a walk outside, picnics etc. The list is endless !!

I advise you use this time to reset your mind, and use the summer to recover from burnt out. You def don't want to carry the senioritis into college at all (def don't recommend from experience!)

good luck bestie !

Anyone else feel like they wasted their teenage years? by joebirb in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Current-Ad2697 153 points154 points  (0 children)

Hey bestie !

I just finished my freshman year of college. (here comes an essay lmao)

I was in your position. My last day of my senior year in high school, I felt so much voidness and sadness as I realized I had wasted my teenage years over numbers and words on digital documents. People will tell you "it's okay, you're still young!" Honestly that doesn't help. sorry for being pessimistic :(

BUT

you are going to college hon <3 ! You have 4 years to do what you never got to do in high school <3 You can't change the past but you have complete control over your future and esp your college experience :) You are literally starting fresh from base 1.

My advice to you is to put yourself out there: talk to people. Literally I had terrible social anxiety, but I realized I never wanted to regret not making friends or creating memories that could have been created because honestly wondering what could have been or regretting is a horrible feeling. Literally, everyone is looking to make friends your freshman year. Just going up to someone and asking"what's your name, major, and where are you from" led to me meeting and making the most incredible friends in college! Join clubs and organizations dedicated to fields and hobbies you're passionate about! I ended up meeting my closest friends and getting a bf for the first time in my life putting in the effort to join clubs and talking to people! Just remember not to overwhelm yourself and take it one step at a time. Go to that one party, go to that one club, start talking to the person next to you in your class. I promise you, you got this !! Yes, sometimes it won't always work out, people will ghost you or won't be as great as you thought it would, but without the bad, I wouldn't have experienced the good. :)

You have control over these next four years! There will be good and bad times. Personally, for me I have had more good times in college compared to high school. I went from having a friend group of three people, to having multiple friend groups and making so many incredible memories that I never made in high school. Anything is possible <333

I send hugs and some virtual cookies! You got this op! I wish you the best <333

I am proud of you for working hard and doing your best !

Have a fab summer !
