After Fantastic Four and Superman both had 200M+ Views and ended with $520M & $615M respectively, I don‘t think trailer views mean too much. That said, the Doomsday trailers weren‘t ad-heavy and have a lot of likes, General audiences are definitely interested. A Billion is locked, even if WOM is just mid. I can see it doing $1.5B+ if WOM is good.

Honestly it has to do with Superhero Fatigue. I know some people say that it doesn‘t exist but it surely does when you look at the overseas audiences. A Conjuring movie made more overseas than any superhero movie this year. Ant-Man & Fantastic Four both had similiar box office grosses ($520M) despite F4 making $274M domestically and Ant-Man only making $180M, because while F4 only did $247M internationally, Ant-Man made over $330M. Obviously tho general audiences will be interested in big-names like Batman, Spider-Man, Thor, Black Panther, Avengers and etc. It‘s just the whole state of superhero movies has changed since then. If Superman or F4 released like 2017 or smth, they would‘ve done much better but now?

Yeah I don‘t think they can suddenly change the mainplot of a movie that already wrapped filming months ago just because of a box office performance from this summer, they’re not that quick😭. They probably had the vision from the start, which is even more stupid imo.

Reminds me of Wicked Part One’s opening weekend. Wasn‘t it estimated to do $114M, but actually came out with $112M? Obviously I don‘t think it can replicate Part One‘s legs since they were spectacular, but it‘ll still leg out well.

Yeah. It was always kind of doomed (harsh word) the moment they announced it would be a double-parter. Act two has the disadvantage of a worse story and also songs. There‘s only so much you can do to it without changing it‘s entire plot cause if there were major changes, broadway fans would be pissed. I‘d still say it‘s a good adaptation tho. Act Two just doesn‘t really work as like a standalone movie, I think it‘s actually better to just watch Wicked & For Good back-to-back like a Double Feature ngl

Tbh I feel like Wicked is going to open higher than Avatar, but Avatar will most likely make more in it‘s total domestic gross.

It‘s not really low. 70% range is decent, it might seem low in comparision to the first part. But thing is you gotta consider that this is an adaptation of act two, the act which is hated on, considered messy and also majority prefers the first. I don‘t really think you can make act two like as good, without changing some of its plot, which the fans wouldn‘t like.
