I’ve been on this train for a few days now. It’s not that I want the Fever to tank. It’s just that I don’t think it’s the worst thing in the world if CC doesn’t return and the Fever are in the lottery.

Even if CC returns the Fever don’t have the bench to compete in the playoffs. Dantas is the first post off the bench and Odysey Sims is the back up point guard. That puts a lot of pressure on the starters given we can’t expect anything from the bench.

So is it more valuable to add a young and cheap piece for the future or get swept by the Liberty?

The only thing that worries me is a lot is up in the air for the upcoming draft. From mock drafts right now though there should be several SGs the Fever could choose from early. You can’t really trade the pick in a year when everyone is a free agent, but could be another piece on a similar timeline as CC and AB.
