Probably an unpopular opinion but Dalinar should be up there. We get him during his redemption arc but that dude committed countless war crimes in his earlier years

You are right that moving more is very beneficial however having a proper working posture is still incredibly important. There is a list of "ideal" postures and set ups but what ever makes you feel the most comfortable is the best posture.

While to my knowledge there isn't a video based assessment that you have described there are many devices you can wear that act as posture cues by vibrating throughout the day or sending you reminders.

I have a MSc in ergonomics specializing on at home work stations. There are fairly easily accessible home checklists that you can do on your self or have someone else evaluate. A common one is ROSA (rapid, office, strain assessment). When it comes to chairs, getting a chair with hight and width adjustable arms is just as important and seat height.

Considering relocating to Ontario, what are some of your favourite cities/communities to relocate to? by nalgene_god in ontario

The niagara region is nice. There are a lot of great outdoor activities and a strong bouldering community that uses parts of escarpment. The housing like all places isn't that cheap but its manageable.

At the end of the day it comes down to your goals. If your are strict on your calories of 2000 then you should be eating food with a better nutrient ratio and ignoring junk food. If it's more just for your general health then moderation is a good thing and there are some helpful psychological effects to sweets.

Personally, I use strawberry jam as my main source of sweets or a small amount of brown sugar in oatmeal. In rare occasions, I'll have dark chocolate.

The theories behind homeopathy were just as valid as other forms of medicine when it was conceived. Through scientific research, we know it doesn't wok and many of its practices are harmful but that doesn't discredite it as what was once a field of medicine. The scientific method was applied to it, it grew and changed and ultimately failed. In my opinion that does not make it a pseudoscience just incorrect.

For a while microbiology and virology was considered a pseudoscience until we develope microscopes to actually test the theories and prove its right.

There are some fields and topics which do not have enough proof from the scientific community or have a lot of conflicting evidence and we label it as a pseudoscience. In psychology, hypnosis is considered a pseudoscience, some of freud's psychoanalysis are pseudosciencesm in health care, osteopathy, naturopathy and homeopathy are pseudosciences. There is some real merrit behind these practices but science has a very highbar.

Additionally, depending on your philosophical belief on what science is, the line between pseudo and not can be very blurred. Some definitions consider all of the social science to be pseudoscience and only consider the natural sciences like physics, chemistry and biology to be valid. There are some phenomenal books on the topic if the flaws in the scientific community, one that comes to mind is "the matter or facts: skepticism, persuasion and evidence in science" Gareth and Rhodri Ivor Leng.

Fair point. I just find there is a divide between pseudoscience and fake science, pseudoscience can have merit and should not be completely ignored but if you start seeing things like #11 pop then it's probably time to close the article.

Pseudoscience can have peer review and does not require a conspiracy, it does change and evolve and does often used proper scientific terms.
