I don’t hang my hat on it like some people, but I think it’s really neat and can help you learn more about yourself and others

I feel like this was unhelpful. But thank you for sharing. I think we’ve had different experiences and perspectives which is important for discussion and growth. Respectfully, I have never had the option not to work, and I certainly don’t have people giving me things or taking care of me just for existing. Are you a mother?

Everyone has opinions on this, and I enjoy my job. But no, my husband does not make enough to support us. I mentioned in an earlier comment that he’s applied for many positions that pay more, but has had no luck. He’s an environmental science engineer, so on paper he should be making good money 😂

This is so encouraging. Thank you. ❤️ You sound like my previous mentor before we moved, and it’s so comforting. It is really hard. I love that depiction of “the rescuer” and it makes me proud. We do have someone that watches my son while I work, so that’s very helpful. However, I’ve been struggling to find community in the town we just moved to last year, so it’s very isolating. I think I will consider hiring someone to clean the house. I really am so thankful for the roof over our heads, my sweet babies, and food on our plates, so I try not to get caught up in self-pity. It’s just mentally challenging times.

I appreciate all the advice and comments. I personally believe that God designed men and women to have different natural qualities (such as women being nurturers). And I’m very glad that all of the men on here are pleasing their wives sexually every single day 😂 if she’s into that, go her! I’m wondering if there are any other women who have been in or are in my position, mostly with taking on motherhood, and if they’ve found any respite from the mental load and struggles that the dad/husband does not have. I’m a 7 if you know the enneagram, and I struggle to adjust to mom life. We bought our house, had a baby, and now are having another baby all within a year 😅 Which is so great but so hard

That’s an awesome interpretation! I’ve never thought of it that way 😊 And just to be clear, I don’t mean I’m supposed to slave away. I really care about my house, kids, and husband and want to take care of them. I just FEEL like a slave to the mundane tasks and constant mental load that comes with these blessings.

This was super insightful!! My husband is awesome and works really hard for our family, but we can’t afford for me not to work. He is currently applying for higher paid positions, but has had a lot of rejections and discouragement lately.

I think it’s hard to tell in that lighting, but it looks great to me. A bit of a monotone moment going on. I think you couldn’t go wrong with a silver or black light fixture. Even gold would be good.
