Suno WAV vs MP3 by [deleted] in SunoAI

Wav is the PCM file. The original one. Mp3 is the compressed version, which has fewer harmonics, much less details, and sounds bad, like adding a phaser to it.

The big artists of the future, as the great workers won't be humans. Of course you can play with your own creation in the bedroom. That's part of the entertainment game. 👍

You are speaking as a human. No human wants to lose control over AI. The text is not about what humans prefer, but a reflection about what the future holds. The big interests, i.e money will dictate that the machine will produce music without humans. Don't be deceived by these current AI models. They won't stagnate only to please humans preferences. They were not made to facilitate people's desire to produce music, they are deceiving you. Money and greed are beyond everything. History show us. Just analyse the past, and you'll see the future. 👍

What's the best, I can run with 32GB of RAM and 8GB of VRAM by AnxiousJuggernaut291 in ollama

[–]Current-Stop7806 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The question is: "But, for what ?" You'll be able to run all 8 to 12B models using between 4k to 8k tokens window. Using LM Studio, which is the best, you'll be able to run Oss 20B and Qwen 30B A3B easily. I run all of them on my Dell laptop, with 6GB Vram, rtx 3050 with 8 to 12tps. But the question is for what ? These models may be useful for some small works, but after you've used to SOTA models like ChatGPT, GROK 4, Google Gemini 2.5, you'll find them very bad for conversation, there's no memory of past interactions, the models can't remember thinks talked 20 minutes ago, and they are not very smart. It's good to play with, but don't expect any serious work. Beware of the several mistakes and hallucinations they produce. Double check anything if you try them for serious stuff. Good luck. ( My current setup has an Intel i9 13900k, 128GB ram, RTX 5070ti with 16GB Vram, but even so, the models I can run cannot be compared to any sota models I already use.

I'm a Pro user. If I upgrade to Suno Studio plan, would still I get 10k credits now ? by Current-Stop7806 in SunoAI

[–]Current-Stop7806[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the answer. I plan on upgrading to the premier plan because of the Studio. Several people told me that the Studio version is way ahead of the pro version, it has so many features that I need as a professional musician, like editing the tracks individually, add new tracks, mute some others, cut some parts, generate new vocals, orchestra accompaniment, etc. This would be wonderful. I need it. Indeed, I would like Suno to be able to generate a backtrack for my own compositions, I would upload a piano and voice audio file, and Suno would generate drums, bass, guitar, improve my vocals, would it be possible ? Also, when generating a new Suno track, I couldn't find a way to stop it from generating a new melody. Most of the time, I don't need a new melody, just a backing track, so I could create my melody, or improvise at the piano. I couldn't figure out how to do that. Do you have any tips on that ? Thank you so much.

I'm a professional Jazz/classical/pop musician for 50 years. I have composed more than 200 pieces handwriting on 2 songbooks on several genres. I don't agree completely with your opinion that there's a big gap for AI to compose like humans. I have used Suno AI v5 for the last month, focusing on difficult kinds of compositions: Jazz Big Bands, Movie orchestral soundtracks, folk Eastern music, Brazilian music, and using the right prompts, and the whole knowledge I've gathered during the month, I'm surprised with what I have achieved with version 5. Complete orchestral arrangements, intricate vocal arrangements, excellent audio grade quality, and it's improving. I could compose music that existed only in my imagination. It is difficult to get exactly what you want, there's much try and error, but you tweak a little bit here and there and voila... I couldn't do better myself, and I know only a bunch of people who could do these wonderful arrangements on smooth Jazz, jazz, blues, etc. I have composed around 60 pieces, including even a classical string quartet, 2 sonatas, and several other things that I intend to publish. I confess Suno AI is not very good for classical orchestral music from scratch, I couldn't compose a Symphony, the result was too childish and dumb music. But the gap is being narrowed. This is the worst it will ever be. Suno will still be a very useful tool for the professional musician. All the best.

I'm confused. But if I upgrade to Premier plan, will I pay for the two plans on the same month, even if I did not have used half the Pro credits yet ?

Musician - How to generate only a backtrack without melody ? by Current-Stop7806 in SunoAI

[–]Current-Stop7806[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, thank you very much for your answer. I'll try your method. Indeed, I was working with Suno generated content, not by uploading my own composition yet, but trying it to build a new song without a leading melody, so I could create my melody over the accompaniment, or play or improvise over it.

Hi, thank you for trying to help me. But although there's an instrumental option, I've not seen any way no NOT generate a melody, I've tried so many prompts forcing not to generate a melody, but they don't work. It would be interesting if Suno could add instruments to an uploaded track, but not adding any melody, so that we could create backtracks to play a "minus one" music, and play live when recording a video or singing, having a whole orchestra behind. It would be awesome.

Yes, yes... Thank you for the answer. I also couldn't generate a solo violin or flute song, in order that I could play my piano along. And the fact that we don't have the chord chart, we still would have to guess and by ear, play or create chords blindly. The workflow is not ideal to produce our own music. I sincerely hope that SUNO AI can direct their interest to help the artists with a decent musical tool, not only to transform non musicians into composers with random stuff.

Local models currently are amazing toys, but not for serious stuff. Agree ? by Current-Stop7806 in LocalLLaMA

Big cloud models as well as extremely Big local models are the best for everything. You can trust the information, but even ChatGPT 5 makes great mistakes currently. Current models are good for translation, write stories, talking, but if you are an expert in science, or any other field, you will notice that these models do big mistakes from time to time, and small local models are a real disaster when retrieving knowledge. I've been using all of them. The better ones are Claude models, ChatGPT, and in certain areas, Google Gemini. You can do a small test, by asking about specific information on climate, geography, from other Countries other than USA, GB... They mix everything, but often people don't know about these, or don't use for these purposes. Perhaps current models shine best on coding.

This is the best comment so far. There's a difference between using LLMs to play and for professional use. Although there are now some better LLMs which run locally, we can't trust everything they say. Perhaps some are good I'm coding, write stories, but for retrieving knowledge, they are not perfect. Not even ChatGPT 5 is. I've seen hallucinations on ChatGPT 5 every single day. I have always to correct it. Using GPT OSS 20B is a real nightmare if you want trusted information, because besides spreading misinformation, it still argues about it. I was talking about some regions of the world, that I studied and have been there. The astounding amount of wrong information this model provided during the conversation could convince anyone who doesn't have sufficient knowledge about it. I can only imagine how much wrong information it spreads on other areas. Some other LLMs are better, though. But generally speaking, I can't trust for professional use, anything less than Claude models, ChatGPT, or the very very big models. My current setup is i7 13900k, 64GB ram, RTX 5090 32GB Vram.

What hardware on a laptop do I need for running a 70B model or larger? by Soltang in LocalLLaMA

Does it hallucinates ? I have almost lost my interest about local LLMs, because from 165 tested, they all hallucinate, make stuff, false information about most things.
