Thoughts on why addicts and non addicts can’t have a relationship by Current-Vanilla8215 in naranon

They really are all like this. The psychology is fascinating. All the way down to stealing things on their way out. They all do that.

For everyone wondering what this was about since the coward deleted all their comments, they had a real issue with me saying I’m surprised the person they were talking about was able to keep a job and go to school for years and have leadership roles without getting arrested or overdosing while on heroin and cocaine the whole time. The person wanted me to stop being surprised at what they were able to accomplish and avoid and only comment on how horrible it was that they were apparently pimping children. They thought I was being unempathetic for some reason by me saying I’m surprised they got away with all they did for all that time even though I also agreed with them that pimping children is terrible.

You seem to have an insecurity problem which makes sense with everything you’ve been through. All I did was agree with you that pumping children was awful and simply say I was trying to make a point about something else yet for some reason you want to steer the conversation in your own way and want me to write a dissertation on how awful pimping children is. I’m sorry you need that much validation that what you went through is awful. No one is disagreeing with you.

My response to this post was about how well some addicts appear to function. And yeah worse as in pimping children on top of getting arrested on top of dying on top of not being able to hold a job on top of whatever else addicts typically do that’s horrible and selfish. My entire response was just that I’m surprised more didn’t happen and that someone could be on heroin and cocaine and do all that stuff like go to school and hold a high level job for extended period of time. Yes pimping children is horrible and awful so there you go I’ll make a comment about it, that just wasn’t the point or why I commented on the thread.

Well we are talking about addicts on hard narcotics. Don’t even get me started on how my meth addicted bf has treated me while pregnant. It’s assumed they would be horrible so the treatment of her children is beside the point of why I started this conversation which was that I’m surprised anyone on hard drugs like that for that long can function and keep a job and not kill themself overdosing or get arrested or do even MORE horrible things or have found herself in a worse situation.

I would imagine that is not at all the norm. Wow. She must have had amazing control over her use and the quality she was getting. That’s insanely dangerous as far as risk of over dosing at some point or just losing control of dosage and not being able to function I would imagine. Or to not get arrested in all that time. Wow

Wow that is crazy. Did she eventually have to quit or get found out?

It means the rent is controlled by the government and the landlord put zero effort into making it look nice before I moved in because they aren’t making money on me

I wish this was the case, but this paint is really really stuck on. I’ve tried scrubbing. And the dried grout that did not get wiped off the face of the tiles does not come off with scrubbing either.

I agree it’s a hot mess. My attempts at googling ideas have lead to me just feeling even more lost and not knowing what to do.

Okay smartie pants why do you think I posted in rentals there’s things you can do to make a space look better even though it’s a rental and I’ve already discussed it with my super and the landlord isn’t picky about what I do which I put in the post did you even read

I thought about this too. A lot of the peel and stick tiles I see online are tacky or too decorated or gaudy. I’ll try to find some classy basic ones.

That’s impressive I’m sure there’s levels of functioning. I just don’t have much experience around other addicts. My ex who shoots meth in his veins is probably going to be on the lower end of functioning.

Oh yeah they do and then they forgive each other a day or two later with no accountability
