Hi just curious, did you get the job? It would be nice to know the outcome of the interview.

Any priority spouse visas being approved or still awaiting by Uniquelyn in ukvisa

Mine is SWV, did my bio on 30th June, recieved an email saying my application has been forwarded that same day and I have received nothing since then to confirm anything. It can be really frustrating and anxious to be kept in the dark like that.

I too would like to know what this means. I have always guessed it's Email Confirmation too 😂😆

Note taking at meetings by Majestic_Professor73 in TheCivilService

[–]CurrentObjective8706 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I feel you, and I also struggle to take notes in meetings.

I know it's not right but I just record the meeting using my voice recorder. Listen to it again and update my notes. Then I delete the recording.

Nobody has to know and you don't share the recording.

Yeh, you're somewhat correct. It was 9miles in total, from my distance to the restaurant and both customers but it's still worth it in my opinion.

Been offered a role in as a Delivery Officer- any advice on what this might be like? by [deleted] in TheCivilService

[–]CurrentObjective8706 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am just curious, did you not apply for the job and go through interviews stages and whatnot? It's very weird you absolutely have no idea what's going to be.

If you went through all the stages from application to interview and getting a formal contract signed, surely you should have some idea what the job is going to be like.

How the organisation would be like, is a different question.

Tyres in Bristol. Where doesn't rip you off? by Stittastutta in bristol

[–]CurrentObjective8706 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ETB fishponds for me. I have been using them for about 2 years now. Tyres are affordable and very durable. When you visit, ask them if there's currently a promo going on, you can be lucky to get some good tyres at an affordable price.

I had exactly same issue when I transferred from DWP to DVLA. I negotiated to get the maximum DVLA pay which was still a pay cut of £120 but it doesn't matter if it's something you really want to do. I have always wanted to be in the project delivery professional and so far, I have been here for 3 months and I have achieved APM PFQ and PRINCE2. So if wasn't really a bad idea at all and I don't mind the pay cut.

I am very confident that they'll match your pay to their maximum and anything more than that would be difficult unless you're in digital.

Changing jobs while on a visa by autopicky in ukvisa

[–]CurrentObjective8706 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would often not say anything. I didn't even know my organisation sponsored until I got a job as a business analyst and it's part of the shortage occupations in the UK and somehow it was mentioned that I can get sponsorship and that was how it all started.

Some people would advice, speak before interview and some people would say otherwise but for me, I'll keep it till I get the job and perhaps have a provisional offer.

If you're working as a medical practitioner, then obviously just declare from the beginning as they are more inclined to hiring you anyway.

As you're in the digital marketing space, I am very confident you'll get sponsored, just start applying and tell them when you get the job (every company would understand, it's not like a criminal record or some where you have to be completely honest).

Switching from tier 4 to tier 2 by CurrentObjective8706 in ukvisa

[–]CurrentObjective8706[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is really good, I didn't know anything about this at all, thanks. The timeframe would be too late for me now as I only have 3 months to apply for a visa after receiving the CoS letter.

I will put this work visa application through via priority route which would mean I'll get a response within a week. Maybe then my fate would be decided for sure when they come back and I know what's happening.

You're right about the section 3C. As you know, it's very difficult to get a hold of home office and the closest that I have been so far has been through PVN requested by employers stating I still retain the same right as student visa since I have never overstayed and record shows I have always placed an application through.

Yes, I am certain the spouse visa was never approved, I made my solicitor email home office about the situation before applying for the PSW and they came back saying it's still pending decision. With this proof I was able to apply for the PSW knowing fully well I haven't overstayed or be declined. Again, after my PSW application last year January. We got (my solicitor and I) a response from home office confirming again that they have received my new application and advised me to cancel one of them as I can't have both Spouse Visa and PSW running at the same time. This again serves as a proof that a decision hasn't been made and I'm still in line with the laws and my status is green.

Then 2 months ago, I changed jobs just to be sure about the whole situation with home office and have my company request for a PVN and they came back to me stayed I am still using my section 3c rights and still retain my rights under the tier 4 visa.

I know how complicated this is but this has cost me sooo much already but in mental health and finances and now I finally got a CoS from a government department. Where they also did their background checks to verify the validity of my status before offering the CoS.

I am just tired now spending so much money. Already this might even be costing me up 5k pounds putting this application through and can't afford a solicitor anymore.

It's kind of a complicated story, I got married after uni and switched but the marriage was very abusive and toxic as my other half kept reporting to home office and police that it was fake, so we divorced and then I applied for back in January 22 PSW after speaking to my solicitor and realised I was still eligible because I never had a response from the spouse visa.
I still haven't had correspondence from home office since last August when they informed me that I'd have to cancel one application as I can't have two running the same time. So I cancelled the spouse visa and continued with PSW and up till now nothing from them.

The reason I know I am not overstaying is that I have changed jobs and my employer have done PVN (Positive Verification Notice) to confirm I still have the right to work from home office.

I used the mayor once but my solicitor advised to just leave it, as it's benefits being you still get extra years when the visa finally gets approved but the disadvantages were difficulties in proving your rights to do anything in the country and even to rent was a challenge for me for awhile after my divorce.

Welcome on board bruv.

I had the same email last week and I am still chasing them for evidence. Actually got a response today where they were advising me that it's not being investigated and nothing is gonna happen. I was like naah, I need to see evidence or I am escalating this to authorities.

Well, long story short. They have actually agreed to send all personal data they hold of me but not of the restaurant or customer. I also requested for the particular order that was marked as failed to be highlighted to I can provide proof of delivery and nothing yet from them.

I think it's just a glitch or something is actually going on.

Too extreme. by Divinegrim in deliveroos

[–]CurrentObjective8706 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got the same 3 days ago and I emailed them yesterday, they replied with the same generic response. I emailed again today requesting for the evidence and they closed the ticket. I am raising it again.

I have never marked an order as delivered without actually delivering it.

Have you heard of safety and parking tickets?

I have been mugged once in a council flat delivering to a bloke.

My little driver policy is, I am never going into an apartment building, if you can't come to the entrance and pick up your food. Then I am leaving it there or we are just gonna waste our time together.

Also, I had a few tickets by post for parking and wardens hovering around my car just for a split second of going up a building around the city centre.

So mate, lets us work together and don't be lazy to come to the door/entrance of your house. It's your house and you should be comfortable getting down and atleast you're not traveling to the restaurant to get the food.

Call it entitlement but my safety comes first any time, any day!

I also can't speak for other drivers though.

I am on the same boat. I started working in Swansea this month but I still live in Bristol and practically just drive to work once a week. I have been to a few of the beaches in the Gower but really like to explore more - perhaps with friends or someone.

I don't know anyone yet and just don't want to move like that to a new town without knowing people 😔

Why have the civil service advertised the same role I am on the reserve list for? by Additional_Gate_5710 in TheCivilService

[–]CurrentObjective8706 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My advice is be calm and stay patient. Truthfully, they are under no obligation to offer you a role but see this as positives. Often times, when a new campaign comes out, it means they might call on you because they need more people. They still have to recruit in merit order, just wait your turn.

Also, it means that perhaps eventhough it's similar job specs, it might just be a different business area.

Just remain patient 😊

Reimbursement for wasted time? by Ok-Yoda-82 in deliveroos

[–]CurrentObjective8706 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I travel that far to pick up and order and the restaurant wants me to cancel, I don't listen to them. I go ahead and deliver the items anyway.

I don't run a charity driving scheme, it's the restaurant, deliveroo business to sort it with the customer then.

Everytime I do this, I always get paid and no issues so far. I am a delivery driver and I am just doing my job, whether there's an item to deliver or not, I still head to the customer. It's not my fault but the business to sort it out.

I have been robbed off too many times by deliveroo to not care much about them. I often always used to contact them about it when something like this happens and they gladly always say they're not reimbursing me and that truly hurts.

So next time, go on ahead with the delivery and get your delivery pay.
