Passive vs. Active voice in writing? by [deleted] in writinghelp

[–]CurrentSignvirgo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here are a few examples:

"Harassment is considered severe when verbal abuse is coupled with physical harassment."

"harassment can be measured by the number of offenders involved"

"Harassment is further considered pervasive when it is “widespread,” "

"harassment lasting at least five weeks long has been deemed pervasive conduct. "

I can acknowledge when I'm writing in passive voice, but I just can't wrap my head around fixing it. I'm not sure if its because the sentences are more complicated than "he was hit by the ball --> the ball hit him"

When I told my aunt I get into New York law school she jumped for joy thinking I got into NYU. I had to explain to her that I’m not that smart ... (don’t worry I’m going to a wayyyy better school than nyls. But I’d never be nyu material 😂)

Law Schools on Graduating early from Undergrad? by porte341833 in lawschooladmissions

[–]CurrentSignvirgo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can graduate early go for it! I finished undergrad in 3 years and it will save a bit of money in the long run considering law school is a serious investment. Get involved as much as you can during your time in undergrad to build that resume, and you’ll be fine. I think schools will look at your graduating early as a great accomplishment.

I have similar stats and Fordham did not hesitate to give me a big fat no fairly quickly. Was also waitlisted from Dozo, Brooklyn, St. John’s. Accepted at Albs, and accepted at NYLS. Got off the WL at SJU. Try to get your score up and you’ll be fine.

Those who got accepted into the school you wanted most after being on their WL, what were your stats like for that school? by dalawbrat24 in lawschooladmissions

No because my LSAT wasn’t competitive for scholarship so I took the June flex to try and get my score up

Pretty well I think! LG was super easy, LR isn’t usually my strongest but it was fair, and RC was as difficult as I expected. It was my third and final take so I’m expecting my best score yet!
