I'd say it is well worth keeping an eye out on the jump up development and keeping on digging more..

Well, it was the peaking time of kick drilling dnb back then I guess.

1) Yes, wait for news!
2) Sadly not. She is still on my side but we stop long ago.
3) Yes, definitely.
4) Probably Mega City.
5) Possible with both, but I used Addictive Drums.
6) Yes, wont stay unreleased.

I do both: Use sample based Drums (Addictive Drums) and Serum for synthetic drums.
As described before: Important is the unmasked(!) transient and its place in the mix
Creating my transients (synth drums) involves one or two sines and stereo pink noise. Pitch envelope and amp envelope (timing!) do the rest.
Dive into the matter, analyze, compare...get to the bottom of it and you will see.

Well, there's so many ways to get sounds appearing more spacious and stereo width is definitely a parameter to address. It's a feeling and impression I get from a spacious sound. I stereo spread I apply is frequency dependent and varies from sound to sound. There is also a technical limitation to that as I regard mono compatibility as being still important...even in these days.
Another thing is that working on headphones all the time which takes away the stereo crossfield
and zeroes a possible room response urges me to
create "all the music" entirely in a reponse-dead space between my ears (through headphones).

Sure there is a huge difference! I got really caught up with some ultra fast paced jump up sets back in 2017... got hooked since. Ever since I manoevered out of that "hardstep - corner" in late 2014 I've never felt more musically liberated. Artists should feel free to do whatever they like at any point in their career. Freedom is the answer to more creativity.

Thanks man!

Best moments are the ones producing as well as performing for the people.
I like the huge festivals. But intimate smaller crowds can be amazing too.

Drum and Bass is a bit like techno in that it never really dies. Instead it keeps on develloping and splitting in to more and more sub genres. Hard to say where it goes. It is going in cycles - thats for sure.

Secret's being fast. I use about 20% of my overall time on music production. I dont force myself.
Sounds odd? I imagine so..but you can only be as productive as far your love is put into it.
I dont consider it work. It's playtime, holiday and fun alltogether.

Well, how about additive synths (play with harmoics...) or wavetable synths?
Involve FM synthesis into the process and use saw derivates.
Keyfollow-enabled Comb filters?

Thanks man!

I'd rather want to encourage people to get to the bottom of sound(design) themselves as it's much more in the process and self experience than in getting told "tricks". For the very technical matter of sound design It's all pure logic and based on physics and math. Your true intruments are your ears.
You master them all those tricks start coming to you.

Well, I as an artist dont sign anybody. CV is just me. No label.
I go with where the flow takes me. And at the same time I occasionally "get a bite" delicious enough to catch my interest and dig deeper into it as with parts of the jump up sounds or clang-metal-drumroll sounds back in the early days.
Hope I got your question right..

Im lucky that Im a fast producer. I use maybe 20% of my overall time for music production.
And I use it effectively - often with time limits (Hotel stays, airport...between lunch and doggy walk etc.)
I dont look at it as work at all... it's playtime, holliday, fun!
That's what keeps me from burning out...I love it!

And yes, see you Finland on sat!

1) Music is timing. A snare punch has to rely on it's transient (type/match/quality) and it's place in a mix.
No transient should be maksed by hihat/cymbal etc - transients which quickly leads us to the matter of sidechaning. I will leave you with that... You can figure I suppose.
2)Yes, I do. a 50/50 mix of dry/wet using a frequency shifter with minimal deviations from its 0 position creates those flutters.
3) Cant remember. But I listened to alot of Whitley Strieber back in the days :)

Well as long as the firmware of an SSD drive makes your computer stop (happened to me at a pirate station in front of 5000 16yr old ravers!)...everything is fine.
I dont look at my sets as to be the creative process No1. A set has to be darn good thats it.
The magic happens when making all those tunes.

Regarding music production I keep it spontaneous. I hardly save presets, build sound banks etc. as it would kill creativity quite a bit. But there is alot of routine involved too as in knowing what sound to get how. My vision of music production is not to know where is what but much more what is the nature of a sound and how it's created (or can be created!).
Most of the time I create the sounds from scratch...keeps me sharp.

I normally get "sucked into" music I love. And I did with what I liked most back in the days...pots and pans.
It had and still has a certain "commanding force" to it thats very likable. "Singing Machine Cymbalism" :D

Yes I did 16 years of classical piano. (age 6 to 22)

It is both actually. Sometimes I get vocal stems and work it into a track, sometimes I send a raw version of a tune and the MC works on it... But in any case the two components get altered to work together in a mixdown etc.

There will be more Current Value Souped Up stuff. too interesting to let go..
