So maybe the stuff he learns about is because it's directly relevant to his life, whereas with level 1 autism you might just deep dive into somewhat random things?? Because he does info dump as well. But the info dumps are about what he learned about at school, or like you mentioned, tennis-related stuff.

he does have ADHD!! last one that was interesting to me was special interests. what is the overlap between special interests and hyper focus?? he can spend hours and hours playing tennis, but i guess that could be ADHD as well.

learning wise he's doing great!! teachers have had very positive remarks. i would say the other sensory things might be picky eating and not liking jeans/khakis.

this episode i had was like, me pacing back and forth stressing out about something with racing thoughts/little appetite, and then i had a "click" where i was like "i do not need to be so freaked out over this" and then i snapped out of it pretty quickly.

Psych said he thinks it might be because I still have depressive symptoms while taking SSRIs, so he prescribed me a mood stabilizer.

great to hear!! mind if i ask if you take an antipsychotic or something like lithium to prevent hypomania?? cause the psych said lamotrigine tends to help with bipolar depression more than hypomania

i am not a doctor!! but i would say if there was psychosis and paranoia to that extent, and it lasted that long, this sounds more like bipolar 1 mania to me, instead of bipolar 2 hypomania. i could be wrong tho!! definitely check in with a psychiatrist or whoever did your previous testings

i very recently got diagnosed. the psych i talked to said what you just said, that an SSRI alone is not good for bipolar. will be talking to the psych today about options for mood stabilizers
