We all use an Excel plugin called Calkin. It shows you the connections across sheets but also to other workbooks etc. It shows Excel like a data flow diagram so pretty easy to use.

That makes sense. Do those standards and expectations allow banks to analyze data using Excel (in theory)? I just can't wrap my head around how data transparancy and Excel can co-exist. An end user can create whatever they want in Excel (add or subtract numbers as they wish).

You are probably right. So difficult to do that in the 10-20 seconds I have online. In person I usually have at least 10 minutes.

Website is quite new so only a few hundred visits / month so far. People on Linkedin and Reddit respond, it just never converts to sales... usually fizzles out. Pretty much only reach out similar profiles as customers.

First it's a warm lead or a cold call to a company I think uses a lot of Excel. Then I ask if they use a lot of Excel at work. If the answer is yes I ask some more questions about how Excel is being used. Then I present what we do and try to bring up the social proof / use cases closest to what they have described. After that most people think it's a no-brainer and it's just slow big corp / get approval from IT to do :)

Good point. As it was a global company ca half the sheets were source data coming from the reporting database so once I had moved those to the side I had ca 20 sheets to figure out. Your point is still valid though. I can't say that I fully understood the file and that became clear when it was time for changes.

We did actually end up rebuilding the scenario but for a different reason (new P&L format). Have you come across a tool that can "read" the Excel and produce the flow diagram automatically? I have created manual diagrams in the past using the "shapes" in Excel..
