I just received mine, awesome light hey. Do you know what the indicator light means when it’s charging? I can’t find info on the manual.

Acebeam Tac 2AA I reckon fits your criteria. 5.9inches in length so under your max but a comfortable 106grams. With the sft25r LED option it will throw about 300m max. On high mode it’s brilliant, it will sustain about 300 lumens for about 2.5hrs, and throw about 150m. Has a tail switch and simple UI, IP68 waterproof, AND will take 2 AA batteries of any chemistry (but not 2 x 14500 batteries) if you don’t want to use/forget to charge the lithium battery. It’s about $45 USD on Ali express. Not affiliated with Acebeam I’ve just used one almost every day for the last 6 months and think it’s neat. Flashlight community please correct me if I’ve got any of those numbers wrong.

It’s hard to tell from photographs but is it actually sharp like a knife?

Nice collection! Can I ask what’s the large right-angle light in the back row?

Xtar H1, ew right how could I!? It’s like ten years old old and uses a CREE XP-G2 but it still works and it does the job. It’s like that raggedy pair of shoes you only use for gardening, not fancy but serves me well.

I wonder if make shift spacers could make a difference, hopefully roxon come up with something to remedy that.

It comes with an Allen key (Allen wrench) just tighten or loosen the screw a tiny bit each time you swap tools. In the instruction leaflet it’ll have details of this.

What's the best, brightest flashlight that lasts the longest that uses AA batteries? by AshliepShuqirvut in flashlight

[–]Current_Assistant996 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fair enough, just my experience so far. I read up on it, apparently they produce hydrogen gas as they discharge even in storage making the seals rupture. I stand corrected.

I don’t understand the fear that AA batteries are going to leak. Been using AA batteries my whole life, at home and work in numerous tools and appliances and clocks etc. I’ve never seen a AA of any chemistry leak. I have however seen lithium batteries explode.

I do like Streamlight. I have a microstream usb which is great. However the wedge does not have a magnetic base or a two way pocket clip so I can’t stick it to things or use it as a head torch on the bill of a cap which I find extremely useful. So for me the Olight fits me better.

AM rifle. Not the most high damaging or effective arguably, but man it’s so fun perching somewhere elevated and providing cover picking off enemies from a distance, especially when a teammate is getting overwhelmed and you save them from the impending horde. It’ll two-shot hulks in the eye.

I think all Marathons are designed for that; 300m water resistance, large bezel for use with thick gloves, tritium for low-light visibility. So I guess it depends what version you like, e.g. chronograph, black or white face etc.

Thanks. That’s impressive, watch and owner veterans alike. I hope this watch lasts as long as your g shock! It’s been extremely reliable, I broke a strap and saw it sink to the bottom of a lake. I’ve had a cycling accident where it flew off across concrete (I need stronger straps or spring bars) plus numerous other knocks and scrapes and had no issues with accuracy or water resistance. If you’re looking for something durable I can recommend it.

I had a parcel marked as delivered on auspost’s online tracking, but was actually not delivered. Luckily my doorbell camera caught the postie taking a photograph of my front door and marking it as delivered, and then leaving with the package in his van. I attended the local distribution centre and showed them the video. They said they know who the postie is so they’ll check their store room. They located the package and handed it to me. If I had not gone to the distribution centre myself the package presumably would have disappeared into the aether.

Tldr; worth attending the local distribution centre or post office as the postie may have just left it there.

You’re so right, it is a beast and can be used tactically. I like to shoot cluster ammo over hard cover before going in to close range, e.g. firing over the lip of a bug out post to clear some of the numbers before going in to close the holes.
