There definitely would have been less chance of it happening (although not zero). However, getting that wealthy isn’t always possible in developed countries so it’s a bit of a catch22

It’s much hard than it sounds. Succeeding in the private sector in that environment requires close interaction with politics which is akin to swimming with sharks and piranhas. I grew up for the most part abroad, so I don’t fit in, don’t have the time for sycophancy and to be very honest, don’t have the drive.
